Omg!!! Go White Sox!!!

There's creepy fans everywhere and I hope that people here don't start name-calling because of it!

As for open or closed stadiums, I'm glad that Houston has had closed stadiums for a while now. It's too dang hot and the bugs will eat you alive in the summer. Who needs that?

Ok, White Sox fans - Just several more hours til game time! Cannot wait!!

I'm so damn excited i can hardly stand it!! Rain, shine, cold, hot, roof open, roof closed who cares??!!

GO WHITE SOX!!!!

Well, it is what it is.,..MLB has been playing in cold, hot, rain, shine for many years...nothing you can do about it...Just sit back and enjoy the game...

That is not the point. It is the Astros' field. MLB should not be able to come in and give the sox an advantage by taking away part of the home field advantage. But, hey, if the sox need mlb to help them win this one, kind of reversing 1919, so be it.

Well last time I checked the Astros have not been playing in the cold, hot, rain, etc... their last home was in the Astrodome, which was closed and now we're at minute maid with a retractable roof. So much for home field advantage... but yes, it is what it is... a bunch of BS.

First of all, the NL has the advantage every year when it comes to no dh at their home stadium...
Second of all, i'm glad you already have your excuse (a ridiculous one at that) for when the astro's lose..." they lost because the roof was open" PULEEEASE!!!
MLB is not "helping" the White Sox win by having the roof open...Sounds to me like you don't have much confidence in your team and their ability to play the game...

Home field advantage is playing at home with a stadium full of fans that love you...
I'm not sure i understand your point..If you're talking about the weather well, the majority of baseball teams play outside...
If you're talking about the noise factor with the roof closed, then maybe your fans need to louder..or whatever...
So, i call no "BS"
I guess i would be testy too if the White Sox were behind two games...

I have all the confidence in the world. It is just that MLB should have no say in this question. The only reason they would require the roof to be open is to appease the sox, and to help them out. No other reason out there.

Here's a quote taken from today's Washington Post:

An MLB spokesperson confirmed the league has jurisdiction over the roof issue, and said its insistence on the roof being opened, weather-permitting, is based on the Astros' past practice. The Astros generally close the roof for comfort reasons on days when the temperature exceeds 80 degrees, but otherwise leave it open

THere is your reason!

 whatever. In fact I almost want them to win at home.

so since evevryone else plays outside, then we have to conform? Oh, and I'm not testy... I'm glad that we even made it this far, winning would just be icing on the cake. Afterall, it is ONLY a game... I think beating the Cardinals was our number one priority and we finally did it so we're happy campers. Oh, and that was minus a slap in the face by Cardinal fans...

NOOOOO, don't conform to the Astro's.... ALL teams should conform to them.... :rotfl:
As far as the slap...There are nasty fans in ALL stadiums...nice try at a comeback though... :rotfl:

But the Astros want it closed, I am talking about the actual team not just the fans... so why can't they get what they want in their territory? I've been to Astro games in cold weather and never had to bring a jacket because they closed the roof. Why now?

so you guys really think the Sox play in cold weather all the time???? It's HOT here in the summer, and as I'm sure you know, we don't really have the chance to play baseball much in the fall!!! So the excuse that the Sox are used to cold weather is ridiculous!!! :rotfl:

WHy now?? Did you read the quote from the washington post?...Apparently that is how it's done...And since i take it it's not above 80 degrees, the roof will be open...If that is the way it has ALWAYS been, why change it now? CAuse your in the World Series and you need to come back from a two game loss and you need noise to help you????
If they followed that rule all year long and in years past, that is the way it should be...geez...

I took my boys to the St. Louis series in St. Louis, and could not say a bad thing about the St. Louis Fans. Everybody went out of their way to treat us nice. I did not go to Chicago for the simple reason that I was unsure of what the atmosphere would be like. I think I made the right choice. Besides Biggio's wife having her hair pulled, and then slapped, other wives reported being cursed at, flipped off, kids of course, being there. Other Astros fans have reported having food thrown at them. I know its a few people doing it, but it is something that casts a black eye over the city. I for one know that I am not going to slap.throw etc. anything at the sox fans that may be around tonight. How will I know they are sox fans----they won't be shivering and their teeth won't be chattering.... :rotfl: :rotfl:

That is why I am afraid to even go to Brewers games vs. the Cubs!!!! Man, sometimes you'd think the Brewers were playing their home games in Chicago...

noise or no noise i don't care... i just think that if we want it closed then that's how it should be. does the dps tell you that you have to drive with your top down in your convertible? Why would they allow us to build a retractable roof? So that WE had the option of opening and closing it.We played in your crappy weather, so u can play in our climate controlled stadium.... and if the astros lose it is not about the roof so don't go there

There are nasty fans everywhere. We were at Game 3 in Anaheim, and spent the entire evening being pelted by peanuts. We were ironically seated near other Sox fans, but none of us were obnoxious about it by any means.

I was at the game on Saturday and there were several Astros fans near our seats. Everyone in our section was polite and curtious to one another. (Much nicer than any of the cross-town games)

It's like everything else in this world, the bad actions of a few select individuals claim the headlines. No mention of the fans who sat next to one another and were polite.
