OMDD Pre-trip Planning Thread

I was reading about the possible monorail service issues and got scared But more boats would be cool. I couldn't pass up a chance to stay at the Grand Floridian for free! I'll definitely have to check out that thread then and see what's going on

I figure as long as we can get to the MK easily, I don't care if it's by boat or monorail. My thoughts exactly.....I just couldn't pass up staying there for free!!!!

Well we're still on baby watch here so...
I'm starting to breathe a bit easier now that it's nearing the end of leap day!

I called Michael and left a voicemail yesterday and sent an email. Still no response. Wonder if I should bug the crap out of him tomorrow?

I bet! A girl I work with was due last Friday and she had her baby boy today! I thought it was kind of cool but she wasn't thrilled.

We almost chose the Grand Floridian. It was our second choice. My daughter loved the animals at AKL so we decided to go back there again. I love them as well so it works out great. I am not sure that I will ever be able to stay at the Grand Floridian but I am ok with that. I like to go and see the Christmas decorations when the are up so we will surely stop by.

I have always wanted to stay at the AKL too. We haven't even had a chance to tour it. We might have to take a little tour this trip. It looks lovely! Yes, the decorations at the Grand are absolutely gorgeous at Christmas. I swear I could live there. Sigh.

Okay, I heard back from her about the shuttle. Originally she told me she'd send me the vouchers for two specific dates, but after I questioned her some more she said that they would be good for 30 days before and 30 days after the date shown, so it won't be a problem what day we use them (unless someone plans to stay in CA more than 30 days). She also said that we'd get a copy of the schedule when we get the vouchers and they'd be Fed Exed to us about 10 days before our arrival. She did mention that the Disneyland Resort Express recommends you board the bus 2 hours prior to your flight for Orange County or 3 hours prior to your flight for LAX. I think you were wondering about that Debby so hope that helps.

One more thing I asked was if she could send me some park maps because they don't print correctly from the DL website. She said no because she's not near DL.

Yes, actually, when I talked to the dude at DRE yesterday, I asked him to clarify what time we needed to catch the shuttle to get back to Orange County, and he said 2.5 hours before. Also, they pick up at Orange Cty every hour on the hour, starting at 7am (maybe, it was before our flight arrives, so I really didn't pay attention), and from 11am to 2 or maybe 4 (again, didn't affect us, so I didn't pay attention) they pick up on the hour and half hour. Sorry I didn't catch some of those times, I was calling from my cell phone on my way back from class.

I got an email this Monday from him that just was saying he received my completed questionnaire and was beginning to book my trip, but nothing else since then.

I still have't received my questionnaire to chose date and resort. These lasts few posts about not hearing from Michael are making me anxious I am heading to WDW and want to plan for this August too. I hope to see it this week

cerilene- Are you going to sign into your DISboard account from the hospital so we know the baby stats when it happens?

Here's what I predict: the baby is born, and before calling family and friends, she will be on the phone with Michael telling him the dates she wants for WDW! THEN, she will post a message on this thread.

I finally have the pictures up from the lanyards at DL

the website address is:

You can click on each picture to get a larger version. None of the lanyards have the breakaway velcro on them but the each have a swivel on the bottom. One of the puctures is of the swivel.

That seriously made me I'm thinking those 2 days in the hospital will be my only time to actually get online for a while. Between a newborn and chasing a 3 year old, I think life is about to get CRAZY!

I know! I think he is in hiding. In all seriousness, the one and only time I talked to him on the phone he seemed a tad overhwelmed. I kind of felt for the guy.

No, afraid not. I have been afraid to bug him about my airfare since he initially told me 30 days but I would love to have the info sooner so I can plan our first day and last day better.

When did you find out you were a winner? I actually didn't receive my questionnaire because my email address has been spelled incorrectly, so it wasn't until I actually contacted them that things were set in motion. I chose WDW, so if you chose them you can PM me and I can give you the information for them if you would like just in case you don't hear anything soon. If you chose Disneyland though I won't have the contact information.

Thank you for posting those. Is the purple one between the princesses and Tinkerbell the only plain one you saw, or do you remember seeing others that just aren't pictured? I'm glad there was no velcro. I don't want velcro. I like the Mickey head lanyard (the one you are holding in the swivel picture) for my little guy. He loves Cars, and I got a smoking deal on a Cars starter set from disneystore.com.

I had a newborn and a 3 year old (almost 4 years ago), and it really isn't bad. Does your 3 yo still nap?

Yeah she's a pretty awesome kid and loves to help so I think we'll be pretty good. She does nap most days and the days she doesn't nap I want to run screaming about 10 minutes after I get her up from "quiet" time.

Well it's good to know that he didn't disappear off the face of the earth, but I wish I knew why he's not replied to the email I sent on Tuesday.
