Oh, hey, we were dropping off to page 4!

Nice pictures, obm. I so wish we'd have something pretty to photograph around here soon. It's still mostly winter gray everywhere.

I wanted to ask Pugrpooh how she's liking the pancake? Have you gotten to use it in low light yet?

Guess where my pancake went? To ITALY last week! :rotfl2: A friend borrowed it along with some other stuff, so now my camera gear is better traveled than I am, LOL. Looking forward to seeing what she got with it.

Also an update for me, I bought a new lens. I really wanted the 50-200 f/2.8 but I'm going to have to save up a bit more for that. I put an offer in on a used 70-300 but it was nixed. Then I saw a used 18-180 f/3.5 at a teriffic price so I decided to get that, even paid full asking price ;) as it was so reasonable. I like it a lot. It pretty much covers what the kit lenses do with a little more reach and a slightly faster speed on the tele end. Bigger and heavier than the kits but feels solid and I don't mind keeping it on there. It won't be great in low light, but at least I don't have to change lenses as much and hopefully I'll be able to get some decent outdoor baseball shots this season.

Also wanted to keep my Proud Olympus Moment here in case anyone missed it. :thumbsup2

I posted on the pet thread, but thought I'd throw this in here, too. We got another puppy! (that makes 3 dogs for us... :scared1:) While I realize that the black dog against a dark background isn't the best way to go, I still love this picture of my daughter and Mandy, the puppy.

I haven't had much of a chance to play around with it yet. That's going to change soon -- we leave Friday for a Caribbean cruise!

When I took a few indoor shots the other night without flash, the shutter speed was too slow so any movement was blurred. I think I had it set to ISO 100. I'm hoping DD6 will take to the kid's club on the ship and leave me lots of time to wander around and practice.

I think I've decided to leave my 70-300 home this trip. I can't imagine using it too often there. Our four excursions are all water related so I'll have limited use of the camera there. I get to try out my new Crumpler bag too! I already like it a lot better than my Kata I have.

ElizK -- great shot of your daughter and puppy! What kind is it? I love the curly fur on its ears.

Hey! Can I join in here?

I have the Oly E-330, my first dslr that I got in about march 2006! still works like new, and I use it always. I have 3 lens, but my newest is the 50mm f2.0 zuiko. When its time to upgrade, I hope to get one of the newer olys, but for now, this will do just fine.

glad to see some Oly people out here, as I get a little tired of hearing about the 2 most popular brands ALL the time. I'll have to find some pics to share that are my most favs.

Thanks, obm. I got it and I've shot over 1000 pics with it so far. I like it! :thumbsup2 It's nice not to have to change lenses. I used it a lot this past weekend on the baseball fields. It did pretty well - I made some mistakes myself but I'm learning and having fun.

Here's one of the first shots I took with it, handheld:

Welcome, Winue. Those are some nice shots! Hope to see you hanging out more with us. We always like seeing other Oly users. :goodvibes

Welcome, there's a few of us here. Now we have one more Oly user!!!

Looking forward to more photos from you and your E-330.

No, not at all. ;)

I took it out on an outing and my son's baseball team had a scrimmage last week and two double headers this weekend that I shot. I'm sure that'll slow down a bit as the season progresses. :lmao:

We just got back from our cruise a week ago, and got some great pics! I took the 14-42, 40-150 and the 25mm. Left the 70-300 at home and I'm glad I did because I only used the 40-150 for one picture!

I think I'm really going to like the 25mm. I used it mainly for indoor shots, but I think I took it out too, I'll just have to check the exif on the pictures.

Anyway, here are a couple that I thought the 25mm did a good job on.

This is DD in the hotel in Fort Lauderdale talking on the phone with my mom the day we boarded.

This is a fountain in the ship which I really liked. I found it hard sometimes to get the white balance correct inside the ship. There were a lot of cream and ivory and the pictures would turn out too yellow. Most of the time inside the ship I couldn't use Auto WB and had to fool around with it.

By the way, after we got back I started looking into free dining. Didn't think we' do WDW this year, but with free dining coinciding with DD's fall break, frequent flyer miles, and Disney Visa rewards, it was too good to pass up! So we're going Oct. 1 for 6 nights at Coronado Springs.
