I just don't understand why the athletes that play by the rules, don't make any controversy hardly get any air time. The media tends to focus on the people that have an attitude that they want to be different and try to establish a bad girl, bad boy image. Can you imagine if every girl hockey player decided she needed her own RV out in the parking lot. Most couldn't afford one because they are college students.
I couldn't agree more. My husband and I have had conversations about this while watching these games. I find it very frustrating that behavior like Weir's for example, gets so much airtime and attention.
I would much rather see that time and attention distributed a bit more evenly amongst the athletes. LOL... along the same lines, we had the very same conversation while watching American Idol.
So much air time devoted to the bad boys/girls.... the foul mouths, etc. For me, it gets very old very fast.
? That Silver will remind her for the rest of her life where a big head will get you.
. I've tried explaining that it's the media and networks that cause the problem but he does have a point when he says that the athlete in some ways "sells" themselves into it.
