What the heck is up with this?????? :confused3

We loved to go to there to eat. There Po' Boys were a super lunch.
If I ever wanted a reuben or a roast beef sandwich I would go to a deli.....

Well that is one less place to go eat now..

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Disney! This was a bad choice. :furious:

????????? Was this for lunch? We were there a little over a month ago and thought the meals were even better than usual.

 These menus were just posed on allearsnet.com

There are new breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.......

I just checked, and it looks like the same menu we had our recent trip. We thought it was very good.

No the last time we ate there was last Christmas trip. We did not make it there in April - we were trying out new restaurants.

I am glad you enjoyed it. Nothing seems to WOW me right now.

What time do they open for breakfast, and what time do they stop serving breakfast?

We just got back last Friday. We ate at Olivia's quite a few times during the week and Friday for lunch. Our waitress said to order the chicken because it would be gone on Monday. Then CarrieAnne, the manager, came over and told us the new menu would be unveiled Monday and many favorites would be gone, but that they new menu would be very nice. She would not show it to us.

From what is posted on AllEars, they really blew this one.

Our waitress also said to write in and complain. They do listen.

Olivia's changes menus fairly often. The ones posted look pretty good, I think. The breakfast menu is about the same as it has always been, except Eggs Olivia isn't available (it hasn't been for available for several years).

I can't believe the fried chicken is gone. That was my favorite! I also have a friend who is a vegetarian and there's nothing for her to eat for dinner. They used to have a nice pasta dish for vegetarians.

We consider Old Key West our second home and have been spending 4-5 weeks a year there (not at one time!) since it opened. And 7 or 8 days out of 10, we've had lunch at Olivia's. We share your frustration with Olivia's as we have seen many, many changes over the years. most of which seem to have been driven by cost cutting. We were told the chicken you mentioned was being taken off the menu because of prep time, for example.

I mean, we remember the days when there was a soup and salad bar in the shape of a boat where the big 10 top table is now. The boat then made its way to the General Store and i think it's gone altogether now. Dave used to make the best soup on the planet and the menu was different from anyplace else to us--or so it seemed. The walls used to be covered by pictures of member's families, the plates used to be multicolored, there used to be napkin rings and we knew every waitress and waiter-Wanda, Claire, Tom, Carol, Lessie. Sharon and on and on.

We still go there a lot but there was a mass exodus of waitstaff a couple of years ago and this took a lot of fun out of it for us. Nothing stays the same and it's still a pretty restaurant with nice food and pleasant folks. We just find ourselves dining on memories a lot these days, looking a the same boring kids menus--remember the fish the kids used to color??

Sadly, change is inevitable but Olivia's is still nice....but don't get me started on the good old days at the Gurgling Suitcase and how THAT has degenerated!!

I'm sure there are many cost factors involved, including prep time, food purchase costs, speculating what customers are willing to pay, how much was "wasted", popularity of a specific food item, etc.

Also be careful what you wish for, the DDP becoming available to DVCers has some impact as well. Other restaurants were already limiting choices on the plan before DVC offered it. Now that it is available to the vast majority of people staying at OKW, does it surprise anyone that Olivia's had to make some changes?

If the pasta dish is the one with asiago (sp) cheese & sun dried tomatoes, it's still there. Love it! We were just there Monday (5/8) for lunch.

They took away the BBQ Pork sandwich too!!!!!!!! :sad1:

Thank goodness they left the Turkey Club or DH would have a meltdown!

That is a SAD menu for us vegetarians...there is only one entree to choose!

I started to go to Disney in 1972 and I remember the buffets they had then. There were so many choices it took you awhile to decide what you wanted to eat.

I agree it is a shell of it's former self! No more character breakfasts either.
