If you are an older adult, what are your top three things to do in the Magic Kingdom?

Hi! :goodvibes I was wondering if you might give a rough idea what age range you were interested in hearing from. Something like 40+...50+...60+? I just wanted to check because older adult means a different thing to me than it does my teenager. :thumbsup2

So true. I remember when I thought 35 was really old.

We're both in our early 50's, and not as fond of fast roller coasters as we used to be. I'm not sure we need to go to Magic Kingdom, but maybe I'm wrong thinking it's just for kids. Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Harry Potter are the priorities so far.

I would qualify regardless of age range! LOL! My three favorite things to do in MK are to ride POTC, watch the MNSSHP parade, and walk down Main Street toward the castle first day there.

My wife and I are in our mid 40s and are just now starting to go to the parks again on our own after many years of bringing the kiddos with us. For us we still love every ride at the MK...ESPECIALLY the slower rides. :goodvibes

My recommendation would be to at least budget in a half day for the MK...you might be surprised.

Our top 3 things for the MK:

1. Haunted Mansion
2. PotC
3. fireworks (we really like the dessert party)

OMGosh. I am in my early 60's and didn't see your post about skipping MK until after I posted. I only listed 3 because you asked for 3 but the reality is I absolutely love Big Thunder Mountain and the Haunted Mansion and the Philarmagic and Peter Pan and especially OH - I am blocking the name but the ride where you are shown a family through the decades. I never get tired of that. And I love Liberty Square and eating hot dogs at Caseys. the magic of MK - and I am equally fond of EPcot and AK for different but similar reasons - but the magic of this park is that of letting go of of being adult and just being a little kid again who is playing make believe - pretend. Wishes and music and little kids everywhere. I skip HS sometimes, but never MK!

My Mom (65) loved going on the Flying Carpets of Alladin, the show Mickey's Philharmagic and of course Dumbo! We're going back again in a few weeks and she agrees that these are her favorites in Magic Kingdom.

Edited to add that the entire park is so worth it, no matter what age you are!!

I am 68.

My three personal favorites are probably -
1) Mickey's Philharmagic
2) Monsters Inc Laugh Floor
3) Hall of Presidents

However, riding all three of the Mountains with the grandkids is the most fun of all. ;)

I'm 48 years old...does that qualify me as "older"?

I love Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain.
;)

41 yr old here and I love and must do the teacups and Dumbo. LOL

We do all rides at MK. Don't care how old I get everything about that park has to be done. Space Mt, isn't that bad, love BTMRR, the jungle cruise, just sitting infront of the castle.

I would have to say my absolute 3 or top 3 things are:

1. Sitting in front of the castle after being there all day.
2. TTA
3. Crystal Palace.

I am almost 54 and I love all of it. I love the rides and parades but I really love people watching. :)

I have to agree with the people watching as it is a top entertainment. Otherwise I like everything except the teacups. Mission Space doesn't make me I'll, but the teacups will do it every time. :rotfl:

Your replies make me feel like a kid already. I love the enthusiasm. Philharmagic sounds perfect for me. I remember The Haunted Mansion, BTMRR, tea cups, and a few others from my first trip. I figured out some of the tla's but I can't find TTA on the MK list of attractions.

I am looking forweard to Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, and PotC. (43)

OH - I am blocking the name but the ride where you are shown a family through the decades. I never get tired of that.

Carousel of Progress! I love that, too. "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow...."

OP, I can't imagine going to WDW and not going to the Magic Kingdom. I love Mickey's Philharmagic, Splash Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, the Teacups... MK is a perfect place to be young again.

my three top would be Mickey's Philharmagic, Jungle Cruise and POTC.
Oh...and HM of course...
Oh - and Buzz Lightyear...don't forget about the Hall Of Presidents, gotta ride IASM just for the nostalgia...
of course, it wouldn't be a trip to Disney without strolling down mainstreet - does that count as a favorite thing?
I'm in my 40's...DH is in his 50's...

Really old guy here:

almost 39...

Hey, you will be in Florida :--)
In your 50s you are considered a KID there!! :rotfl:

My favorites are (no order)

Philharmagic
Splash Mountain
walking Main Street
sitting with a dole whip float watching the camel spitting at clueless people

:goodvibes:cool1:

My dad's in his mid fifties, and his favorite is the Rock n Rollercoaster! He went on his first upside-down coaster at Disney, I think. He tried out the ones at our local amusement park (Canobie Lake Park) at practice, but none of them are as good as a Disney coaster.

My dad is a history buff, too, which he passed on to me, so he likes the Hall of Presidents and The American Adventure. He also likes the Kilimanjaro Safaris.

He has absolutely no use for the Tower of Terror. He hasn't been on Test Track, but I know he'd love it and Soarin'.
