Older Adults: What are your three favorite things to do in the Magic Kingdom?

At 44, my favorite MK things are Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean and Mickey's Philharmagic.

:)

Sorry, I'm "only" 35, but I wanted to share.

My favourite thing to do at MK is to see the parks through my DD's eyes. Everything was new and exciting to her.

We took her when she was just 2 and we can't wait to take her sister in a few years.

:goodvibes

My daughter's (14) favorite three are: Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain

My favorite (42) three are: Tea Cups, Splash Mountain and Haunted Mansion

My husband's (50) three are: Hall of Presidents, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise.

My dad's (77) three favorites are: Hall of Presidents, Haunted Mansion and Mickey's Philharmagic.

Doesnt matter my age - no visit at MK starts without a ride or two (or three) on Buzz. Everything else is gravy! :-)

age 46

1) Haunted Mansion
2) Pirates
3) Ride the Peoplemover (don't like the new narration though, they took all the jokes out of it)

I ride the mountains, but my friends usually don't. So I don't ride them much.

DH says 1. leave to go to Epcot :lmao:
2. The Rail Road
3. Pirates of Carribean
and b/c he's a smart alec, I made him give #4. Mickeys Philarmagic

he also said on the trip beware of any entertainment venues that offer no seating but the floor....they are brutal! Seems like it was only the Playhouse Disney at DHS, but it made enough of an impression on him that he still shudders at the thought....Hope "we" were helpful....

Just Magic Kingdom? Well I love Haunted Mansion and Pirates. I love Carousel of Progress and Splash Mountain. I love checking out the shops.

I am actually at MK for the fantasy of it. It is not where I go for thrill rides. So I am not a huge fan of SM. I love thrill rides but I just don't see WDW as a thrill ride place. I go to Cedar Point or Universal for thrill rides. I like WDW for feeling like I am someone else in a magical world where I can be anything I want to be.

I am almost 30.

1. Buzz Lightyear
2. Buzz Lightyear
3. Eat

(I was born at the mid 20th century. You do the math).

56 and 43 we love MK it is our favorite park. If I had to choose 3 that were not coasters it would be Philharmagic, HM, Wishes. I also love to set and watch the castle change colors from the train station while everyone is exiting the park and DH is taking more pictures.:goodvibes

I'm confused as to what age group this is meant for. The ages are all over the place here! If it's middle aged, my favorites in MK are:

1. Haunted Mansion
2. Big Thunder Mountain
3. Peter Pan

My runner ups are the train and the people mover. Those are my places to relax.

Age 32 Here

1) Relaxing and Enjoying a Snack at Sleepy Hollow

2) Trying to Beat My husband's Score on Buzz Lightyear

3) Grabbing a Meal at Casey's and Sitting in the Back to Watch old Goofy Cartoons

55 and 60 here, and we are still both up for the coasters! The only ride DH doesn't care for is triceratops spin ~ too jerky for him.We try to blend in a few shows just to give us a rest. That would include Mickey's Philharmagic, Muppets, American Adventure show, that type of thing. And SORRY to the Hall of President people out there, but the only time I have ever seen it (4 years ago) I feel asleep and woke myself up snoring! Honestly, the presentation is wonderful, but I was reeeealy tired!

My mom is 61 and the only rides/attractions she DIDN'T do are

Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Space Mountain
Astro Orbiter

She did everything else and loved it:goodvibes

You have all got me so excited to go. I was so focused on the kids before (one was a "runner" and I had to keep an eye and a half on him at all times), that I didn't really get to relax and enjoy it that much. I agree with the comments on Space Mountain. It hurt my neck (it hurt for days) when I was much much younger, so I know to avoid it this time.

Thanks so much for recommending the people mover (TTA). It was not on my radar at all before, and now I know to look for it. And Dole Whips. I might have overlooked those too. I'm going to rent Toy Story 3 before I go to raise my anticipation for Buzz LightYear.

I have a feeling I'll be able to feel more like a kid myself this time. THANK YOU!!!

I have fond memories of the Hall of Presidents as a lovely place to cool off and rest. I might have snoozed a bit too, but I remember feeling surprisingly emotional and patriotic at the end.

Hi
61 next week!! Haunted Mansion, BTMRR and Philharmagic. MK is my favorite park. So much to do there and I can never get enough of it!!

My in-laws are in their 60s. They love Dumbo, Pirates and Peter Pan's Flight.

My dh and I are going to celebrate our 55th birthdays there in January 2011 and still love everything like we did when we were in our 20's. Nothing has changed at all. Splash Mountain is a must (yes, I know it will be down for refurb, that's why we usually go in November :headache:)
BTM is a must and so is everything else ;)

I cannot waiiiiiiiiiit

I'm 50. My favorite Magic Kingdom attractions are: 1) Mickey's Philharmagic, 2) The Haunted Mansion, and 3) The Hall of Presidents. These are really enjoyable.

My favorite Orlando theme park is Sea World -- I just love their shows and enjoy the great animal attractions too. Because the second day is free I usually do two days there. My second favorite Orando Park is Disney Hollywood Studios. Favorite attractions there are 1) One Man's Dream -- The tribute to Walt and 2) The Tower of Terror (love the Twilight Zone theming) -- this is one of those drop rides, though, in case you don't care for that sort of thing.

It's expensive, but something that I'll be doing in 2012 when my son turns 16 that I've wanted to do for years is go on the "Keys to the Kingdom" tour at the Magic Kingdom. It's five hours, includes lunch and costs an extra $70 on top of park admission (Park admission is about $83 if you are just doing one Disney park and don't get any of those multi day ticket discounts). The tour includes lunch. You get to see behind the scenes -- As you probably know the Magic Kingdom was build on top of underground buildings/tunnels for staff, etc. I've wanted to do this for years, but held off as I know my son is very interested in seeing this too and I wanted him to come and didn't want to spend the money on this twice. You have to be 16 to do this. Even my husband who doesn't usually come with us to Orlando (he's not into theme parks really) wants to do this and will go with us on this trip.

We enjoy tripping people with our canes, yelling "what'd he say???" at regular intervals on the rides, and taking our false teeth out in front of small children and smiling at them.

Seriously though. We're late 40's & late 50's and we love Splash, Space, and Pirates. Actually, we love everything at the MK - the kid rides like Dumbo, and the "grown up" rides. Makes us feel like kids ourselves. With spending money.

Edit: Everything except the teacups. Make me puke, but they did when I was 10, too.
