Does anyone remember how they used to embroider your name on your Mickey Ears? The Disney cast member would step up to this really old, industrial looking sewing machine that had a swivel control. They would manually move the hat around while swiveling the sewing head in different directions and VIOLA!

It just added another level of 'magic' and 'awe' watching someone write in cursive with this ancient sewing machine.

I would love to find a video online of someone having this done, but for the life of me I can't find one!

I loved that as a kid! I actually haven't seen any hats embroidered since they replaced them with the new machines. I keep meaning to get my kids Mickey ears, but it hasn't happened yet. I've heard the new method isn't half as awesome to watch though.

I cherish my sets of ears from WDW and DL that are hand embroidered!!
I loved watching the amazing ladies while they twisted and turned the ears to get the name just right. It was amazing!

The new method can be done by just about anyone - type the name into the computer, select the font and thread color, place the ears under the needle and press go
