Old Tickets...will they work?

I've never been to WDW, but am planning a cruise on the Wonder and then a short stay at the poly so we can go to MK 1 day in sept. A friend of mine just gave me some old tickets he had saying he probably wasn't going back and thought someone could use them. Basically, they are pink tickets and say that they are a 4 day ticket for all 3 parks. There are 2 tickets, 1 adult and 1 child. There is a spot that says this passport belongs to and then a place for guest signature, but he never signed it. Also, there is a spot where Disney apparently date stamped the 2 days he apparently used the tickets. Their date stamp didn't line up very well, as the first date is halfway between the first and 2nd line, and the 2nd date is halfway between the 2nd and 3rd line...with the 4th line being totally blank. Also, on the side of the ticket, there is a green 1, 2, 3, and 4. Looks like 2 hole punches in 3 and 4, but the 3 one went over a little bit into 2. The date stamps where he used these tickets are from 1993. Are these any good? Will I be able to use them the 1 day we are there?

We also have discover and planned to buy all our tickets before aug so as to get the 5% discount mentioned in the other thread. I'd hate to get down there and find out these won't work and then not be able to get the discount.

You would need to exchange the tickets at guest services before you could use them in any of the parks. The tickets are so old that they don't have the magnetic strip on the backs that the turnstiles and FastPass machines need to read.

I really can't tell you if those passes have any days left on them or not. It sounds as if there might be two days left, given your description. GoldenOldie is our resident ticket expert. She can probably give you a better idea of how good those tickets are.

Sounds like they are still good. You would not be able to use it at Animal Kingdom unless you updated but since you said you are going to MK then you should have no problem.

Check though on the ticket to see if they have written on there somewhere about Non expiration. It may very well be a consecutive days ticket instead of a non expiration.

If the tickets indeed have only been used 2 of the 3 days, and they say that they never expire, just take the ticket to guest services in the park you want to visit, and they will exchange them for a ticket with a magnetic strip so that you can use fastpass. We did exactly that a few months ago for tickets purchased in 1993. It was my Mother's ticket, and she had signed it, but they didn't seem too concerned that we were using her ticket (she wasn't with us that trip). If the ticket isn't signed, they will do it no questions asked. The ticket will be a park hopper, and will probably be good at Animal kingdom too, even though, technically, is shouldn't be. We also had the issue of date stamps not aligning, it wasn't a problem.

So, the resort wouldn't be able to exchange them for me? Reason I'm asking is we are also hoping to get an early breakfast at the castle the 1 day we go. If we get to the parks, will guest services be open prior to park opening to deal with this so we don't get delayed going over to our breakfast?

Also, the ticket doesn't have an expiration date on it. It doesn't mention that issue at all. But, the friend who gave them to me said they weren't ever supposed to expire, and that is why he saved them. However, on the back terms and conditions, it does say "On any FOUR days you choose, this All Three Parks Passport entitles you to enjoy..." So, I'm thinking that doesn't mean consecutive days, but any days you choose in time. Am I right?

Also, the ticket is perforated (but not broken in two) with the other half being good for admission to Pleasure Island or River Country, but it says it is valid only on the date stamped which is July 26, 1993.

Also, my friend said the passes have 2 days left on them, but I just gave the description I did because the date stamp and hole punch lines actually encroach upon day 3.

I think your tickets will work fine. I had old tickets from 1993 also, except mine were the ones with our pictures on them. I was a little unsure that they would work ( I knew there was one day left on each ticket) because of the same hole punch problem. Anyway, when I went to the window at MK, they exchanged them without a problem. They were a bit unfriendly though. They wanted to see each of us, as if they could really tell because my daughters went from 3 and 4 to 13 and 14.

Not sure if you know this, but don't apply the old tickets to the price of new ones, the value isn't worth it.

You don't need me. ;) Palendat has given you all of the correct information.

Don't worry about the stamps and punches lining up. Misaligned machine dating was very common on those tickets. Guest Relations will be able to tell how many stamps are on it and you will get a new ticket with the remaining admissions on it. It will be a park hopper ticket good at all four parks.

I'd love to get a scan or digital photo of the front & back of that ticket. That's one that I don't have. ;)

We had those tickets and DH left them in his pocket and when we returned home I washed the clothes along with the tickets. I called ticketing and made copies of the tickets and then mailed original tickets to ticketing and they sent me new tickets.

I would call them it could not hurt to give it a try.
