OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Hi friends! :wave2: Now that my Beach Club Villas reservation is complete for October, are there any room requests anyone would suggest I make? Thanks for any and all of your ideas! :goodvibes

Hi. Your request really depends on what you prefer. Honestly, the BCV aren't really know for their views. I've been told you can't request an Epcot view. You have to word it 'woods view' if you want a chance at Epcot fireworks. Even then, you will only see the high fireworks. The other two locations, from my understanding are garden, which would be the rooms facing the grassy area as you walk from the Marketplace to the entrance of BCV. The final location is the quiet pool, and some of these rooms also overlook the canal you crossover to get to the bus stop. Check out this map for some ideas of what the views are.

I got my Mickey Mail yesterday!! What an awesome surprise!

It made me realize a small glitch in my plan to surprise my daughter w/ BC (she still thinks we're staying at CSR). She's been anxiously awaiting that sweet blue envelope, and wanted to get her hands on the ME tags to get her suitcase ready. I realized at the last minute that the ME tags say Beach Club! I made some excuse and changed the subject, but I won't be able to hold her off for long. Hmmm, what to do, what to do.... :scratchin

You could tell her BC stands for Building C, or Before checkin, or Beaches and Cream.:lmao: Or you could pretend to call and find out that it is a typo and that they said the bags will go to the correct hotell anyway, or scan them then photo shop CBR then switch to the real ones right before you put them on the plane.

Wow! So sneaky!! GREAT ideas. :-)

Wow, I'm going to call you if I ever need to hide something. Like a body. ;)

Just kidding!!!!

I'm trying to plan our arrival day. We land at MCO at 9:25am so I hope we are at BC by 11am. There are 11 of us and we have 5:05 ADRs at Chef Mickeys to celebrate my DFs birthday which is right on our arrival day.
My thoughts are check in. SAB until 1ish if rooms are ready. Head to MK around 2:30 to soak it all in and maybe do some filler rides. Thinking we may be able to get FPs with a useable RT for BTMRR or Buzz or Dumbo for the little kids. If not we would be ok with Philharmagic, Monsters Inc... Things with typical shorter wait times.
Now tell me if this is completely nuts... Thinking when we check in, before we settle at SAB, I would have everyone enter EP through IG to validate tickets. Then I could watch my LINES app for when a Soarin FP RT wold be 7pmish - 8pmish. I have no problem taking a walk over to Soarin with all tickets to get FPs. I'm thinking after Chef Mickeys we cold monorail it to EP front entrance, ride Soarin with FPs and then go back to BC to sleep. I'm sure we will be pooped! Am I nuts?

Welcome mmtwinmama!!!! Hope you have a wonderful trip and enjoy summer at BC!

Just a few suggestions - we usually head to a park right away so that we're not waiting for our room. And as much as we love SAB, we find it more fun and relaxing later in the day when we are in our room and have a home base. So on arrival day, you might consider having your "park bag" ready to go, checking in and heading out to a park. For us, that would be Epcot because it's close and easier to enjoy in the afternoon. (OK, and I've always been an Epcot girl and started there first since childhood, so I'll confess there is some nostalgia involved!) We're huge fans of MK in the early morning at rope drop, but tend to avoid it in the afternoon. But lots of guests (including Dee and family!) love to start their trip that way!

As for the fastpasses, I've used the lines app several times and don't find it reliable enough on the return times to prompt a fastpass run into another park. Just something to consider!

I don't know if it will be an issue but the recommendations from those far wiser than myself on all things BC said online check-in was more for those who are happy with just getting the room they booked and not worried about requests. Better put they said it's easier to get your room changed, if your requests were not met initially, if you check in when you arrive rather that doing it online. Since last year was my first BC stay and I had no expectations, I made no requests and did online check-in. Now does this mean your requests won't be met? I would have to let the wise ones answer that one!;)

We usually do regular check-in because we don't find on-line that much more convenient, particularly when staying CL. But we've done on-line twice (once at BC and once at POFQ.) Both times, we were entirely willing to grab our keys and go - no questions, no inquiries regarding room requests - just go. We've encountered other guests who did on-line check-in and had extended conversations with CM at the front desk asking for different room assignments, making the on-line check-in line far longer than regular check-in! So if you are willing to just grab-and-go, then I'd say go ahead with on-line. But if not, definitely just wait until you arrive at the resort.

As for requests, both times we checked in on-line, things went well. At POFQ we requested third floor and got it. At BC, we requested full balcony and got not only that, but a nice water view (we booked GV, so that was exciting!)

Southwest ... cheapest days are normally Tuesday and Wednesday when they have super sales.

Love Southwest! We've converted almost entirely to Southwest, especially with no bag fees, no seat fees, etc. Southwest always has a good deal compared to other airlines and the no change fee policy is wonderful!

Those are fabulous suggestions to not spoil the surprise!! tiptoeing away...I know nothing, I heard nothing...:rotfl:

Great suggestions!! Unfortunately, the ME tags actually say Beach Club, not just BC. They have EC in the blue Mickey head to signify an Epcot area resort, then Beach Club underneath....

Can't wait til September!! And re: the ME tags...Glad my DH doesn't like to have them take the luggage so we don't usually use the tags. Maybe I can keep it a surprise longer this time! (last trip I surprised him with an upgrade to Poly from POR)

LOL!!!! I have a feeling Bookgirl loves her some Stephen King and Ann Rule!

bookgirl loves her just about any books, but i did have a few years where true crime was sooooo facinating

plus being a master degree holding guru of library and information sciences...well let's just say that forensics and crime scene clean up are part of my shelf managment collection....

Now you have me thinking. Now I would love to go to EP when we arrive and then try the FP strategy. I did not know the Lines app may not work so well... I guess I'll have to see if I'm willing to chance it that day. Right now the kids are saying SAB when we arrive, but once they actually SEE how close we are to EP... they might change their minds.
I definitely do want to go to MK before CM. I always do... I can't help myself. LOL.
Thanks for the info!

Ok then I would for sure make a fake luggage tag and switch them out when she wasn't looking. It doesn't even matter if they look slightly different since you could tell her they changed.

How old is she?

It wouldn't even have to be a good fake to fool a young kid, but if she's a teenager I'd tell her that your tags were not included and that you'll fix it at the airport then put them on in line when she can't see.

I don't think the luggage tags are going to be an issue. I think your DD will be distracted by the hidden body until you leave for your trip.

I agree with Dee. 1 month and 1 day is a long time to have to hide a body. That is a much bigger problem than creating a fake luggage tag.

Hahaha. Too funny!

Hi everyone! I hope it's okay to join back in:tiptoe: ;) (we were supposed to be staying at the BC this past April but ended up switching at the last minute). We're back on for next April - just got our airline tix this Sunday so it's real!! We're going to do a few nights at POR first (DD is in love with the royal rooms) then six nights at BC. We haven't been to BC since 2008 and we can't wait!
