Happy birthday Princess Lily! And Mike, too!

When we're at BC in August, my sister and her family will be staying at the Wilderness Cabins. We're all going to meet up for the Spirit of Aloha luau at the Poly. What's the best way for me to get to Poly from BC? Also, have any of you been to the luau? I've read some so-so reviews, but we thought it would be fun event to get the families together...

Fastest way to the Poly would be by cab.
Otherwise you have two choices.
First: boat to Hollywood Studios and bus to Poly.
Second: bus to Magic Kingdom and RESORT (not express) monorail to Poly.

If you ask 50 people, 25 will probably use First way and the other 25 will use Second way.

I personally (just my opinion) find the Luau boring!!!! I much prefer Hoop. But I bet you'll find lots of people here that love the Luau. We just found it way too long ... same thing over and over again and we weren't fond of the food. We love the food and drinks and hokey show at Hoop!

Oohh..... I just realized the kids and I can do what I call the Johnson Family Disney Amazing Race.....going to all 4 parks in one day. I wanted to do this last year but encountered resistance from the kids. Well, this year we are doing it! :)

Last trip I spent the last two days of my trip bouncing from park to park just to hit a ride or two at one, go somewhere else for lunch, back to another park later. It was great I just hit my favorites or a particular ride that I missed. I did three parks each of those days. I LOVE park hoppers.

Based on the reviews I have read of each, I would try to do the HDDR instead-- especially since your family will be staying at the Wilderness Cabins anyway! But maybe you have done it already or could not get reservations... just a thought!

My sister's family have done HDDR and love it! They will be doing it again this trip, but wanted to try something new for our big get-together...

This isn't officially related to YC, but you have been so helpful with all of my other questions. So, planning for our August trip is in full force. We wrote out two options for our drive from PA (philly area) to Disney. I think we have decided that we are going to drive straight through (with two 20 month old twin boys)---eek! Our plan is to leave our house around 7pm and drive overnight, stopping the next morning for bfast & lunch. In doing so, I have convinced my DH that if we do this, we need an extra night in WDW. However, he will not let me add the night to our YC reservation (I think the cheapest room open is over $300 a night). So, should we stay at the Swan/Dolphin or just spend the night at a Value resort ($79)? Will it be a giant pain to switch resorts, or no different than staying at a hotel on the way to WDW?

We purchased 6 day park hopper tix through Undercover tourist. Anyone want to help me plan which parks to go to when? When do I not go to a park---the first day Aug 17th or leave an open day in the middle of the trip???

Do you recommend Cape May Cafe for bfast--which characters are there? I have no idea how the boys will handle the characters. I really need to get them to Sesame Place and see how they do with the characters there.

My next trip was officially suposed to start on Sunday which is when my reservations is, but I'm flying in Sat (was supposed to go to Tampa for the evening). Now no Tampa, so I come in at 1pm and was going to stay offsite because of price and just being a half day. However another change of plans and I am now at the point of park days where buying an extra half day ticket was just a few dollars so I needed an onsite place to stay.

I also did not want to pay 300 dollars for a Sat night so I booked one night at Art of Animation at a much lower price. I don't mind the values and I though it would be a nice thing to try the new resort.

So I say go ahead and book a value, the boys will probably love the giant icons (AoA will not be open for standard rooms in Aug, but Movies or Pop will probably thrill them), and it will give you a head start to the Disney Magic. And you can either hit a fireworks show that night for an extra ticket or skip the extra ticket and go to DTD and shop and have a yummy dinner at Earl of Sandwich. I know they have trex and rainforest cafe but at my twin nephews who were very adveturous toddlers HATED rainforest and the animated animals at that age (just around 2) they screamed and cried and it was not fun at all.

Happy Birthday to the Princess (and to Mike)

I love the toddler years hope she has a ton of fun at Nanny's second home away from home.

Happy 1st birthday to Princess Lily!!

Happy birthday to Mike too!!

I hope you both have a wonderful day!:cool1:

Poor Princess Lily gets two birthdays to celebrate. This weekend in Vegas for friends and family that live there and then on 7/31 when she arrives in Florida. What a life!!! And thank you to all of you that have left gifts for her - they are here waiting for her Florida birthday party. She is certainly spoiled. I wish all of you were going to be at the BC on August 7th when Princess Lily checks into the BC and discovers SAB! It would be wonderful if you all got to meet her (and Jeanne too of course).

Happy Birthday Mike! I wish you were at the BC to celebrate!

Happy Birthday princess:Lily!!
2 parties!! Such is the life of a princess!;)

Looking forward to seeing you at SAB..looks like parks(AK on Tuesday, HS on Wednesday) in the am and then SAB later.:thumbsup2

Some disappointing news:( Baby boy's adoption won't be happening before our trip...thought we'd be celebrating with the whole family @ WDW but it wasn't meant to be. It will still happen, God willing, but we just won't be able to celebrate "officially" this trip. Great excuse to plan another trip...like I need an excuse!:rotfl2::rotfl:

But....we will have something else to celebrate!!!! My son is proposing to his girlfriend!! :cool1::thumbsup2:lovestruc:banana:
He is going to do it at the end of our family photo session on the beach @ BC so we can capture her reaction on film.:bride::groom: She doesn't have a clue....;)
