OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

What happened to the dancing bananas?

Are everyone's frozen? or just mine?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I think the frozen bananas are just waiting to be covered in chocolate. That's why they stop dancing from time to time.... some one reading the thread is eating chocolate and they sense it. The chocolate may even be from Karmel kutchen ......

For those that asked, I told them I could work July 4th. I won't know if I get scheduled for it until I return from the dude ranch. Richard said he may take it off ... he wasn't sure. So, if Richard is there and not me on July 4th, then I'll be back on July 8th.

Teena, Have a fantastic time at the dude ranch with Jeanne! Sorry we will miss you this trip. Hopefully next summer we will be back at WDW and able to see you again.

Boy I stepped away for a few days and this thread has taken off!

Teena - Have fun with the dudes!

MickeyT - Have a great time at the wedding reception! (We want pictures!)

NinjaMom - Hope today was an up day for you, but if not then tomorrow will be here soon. :yay: (that seemed to be the highest energy emoticon)

Robyn - Take care while you are beating off the lyme disease. Maybe one of the big sombrerros from the Mexican pavillion could be used to shade you while you supervise pool activities for the next bit. :)

And to all of you whose trip is just days away - I hope you have a fantastic time!

Yes, I would think YC store would definitely have some if you didn't find what you are looking for at the Marketplace. Beach Club ones would most likely be Disney, but YC would probably have more "real world" ones.

We found men's disney croc slides at BC and flips (non Disney) at the YC. Mouse gears has a nice selection and we found DS a pair there.

Hi there. For the first week of our holiday next year we are staying at BC:yay: and then moving to a condo for two weeks. We usually hire a car for the entire holiday, but as our first week will be purely dedicated to Disney we're considering not getting a car for the first week. Is the transport from BC good or will we miss having a car for that week?

I have never really had issues with the transportation to the theme parks- EPCOT is a short walk, HS is a leisurely walk (25 min) or you can take the boat, MK is better to take a bus than a car, because the buses bring you to the main gate, but if you drive, you go to the TTC and have to take the ferry or monorail to the main gate, an added delay. No problems with the AK bus.

The transport from the BC/YC to DTD or the water parks is not great, but it isn't from most of the Disney resorts either. Resort to Resort transport can be difficult by bus, so if you have a lot of these things planned, a car could be helpful.

When is your trip next year? Let us know your dates if you would like to be added to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1.

Hello fellow Y&BC friends! I haven't posted since last fall, but have 'lurked' off and on, and have been catching up.

Hey Robyn, I wish I was going to be at the DIS Meet with you and Teena. After all, I was at the first one (and even provided the picture on page 1 of the thread)! And I met so many wonderful people there!!

Dee, you have done such a great job with this thread!! I wish I met you in person, but at least I met 'Flat Dee' back in August 2010. It's hard to believe we are not going back to YC/BC this August after having back to back August trips there (BC in '10 and YC in '11). We still talk so much about those trips. My kids are grown (21 yr old son and almost 19 yr old daughter) but they love WDW. And we met Teena and Pete who are our friends. :grouphug:

The good news is we are going to Disneyland (first timers!) in August. We will be visiting with my brother-in-law and his family (they live in Fullerton, CA) and also staying a few nights close to Disneyland. I want to see it all! It may be smaller than WDW, but they pack a lot into those 2 parks! And we are very excited to see the new Cars Land. I actually posted a couple of times in the DL threads on here...but saved my big post (haha I think post 500 makes me a 'DIS veteran'?) for my favorite thread.

It's good to be 'back'...
Kerry

:wave2: Hi Kerry!

It is good to see you here again.

I love it when people save their milestone posts for this thread.

I also appreciate the kind words that you, and others have recently expressed about my work on the thread. I have made so many friends here, it is truly a labor of love and not like real work at all. Oh yeah, I don't get paid! It ISN'T like real work! :lmao:

pixarmom is an expert on Disneyland- hopefully she wil see your post and maybe have some advice for you. Lafittes Landing too, but he will be away on his trip next week.

Yep. Sitting in a room waiting with all the groomsmen & my son. What can i say. You guys relax me.

Have a great time! Let us know how your speech goes over.

AND HAVE A WONDERFUL, MAGICAL AND RELAXING VISIT TO THE WORLD!

Stopping by to say welcome to new posters, happy travels to those leaving soon and welcome back to everyone returning! Scottmel and Cinderumbrella, can't wait to hear more!

Mickey T, we're thinking of your family today - congratulations!!!

And here's the wierdest part - my pursuit of key LIME pie - now I have LYME disease.

Robyn, so sorry to hear about this, but too funny about the KLP/lyme connection!

Lovinthelodge, happy to hear about your DL visit! DL was my original home park and our most recent visits were in August 2010 and February 2012 - so please let me know if I can help with anything as you plan! Unsolicited advice: try to spend a day in Newport Beach/Balboa Island!

Kerry - You will definitely be there in spirit. After all you were part of the "Great Fire" panic of 2010! I'm so glad you took pictures that first year.
Have a great time in Disneyland. We always talking of one year doing a California trip - Disney, San Diego and San Fransisco but we haven't been able to give up WDW yet!

Pixarmom - Yeah if I didn't have a sense of humor about everything I'd be nuts by now. Still chasing the elusive key lime pie at BC - but I hear they have key lime pie over in Adventure Land (for a snack credit to boot!).

Mike - hope the wedding went perfectly. My older ds's best friend got married today. Ds was a groomsman. Must be a great day for weddings!

I love Key Lime Pie!! Where in adventure land?
You haven't lived till you've had the Frozen Choc dipped Key Lime pie on a stick :rotfl: Had it in Key West- amazing!!
Hope your Lyme problem is improving! :goodvibes

Robyn- have you had the Key Lime dessert at Flame Tree? I have read comments from a lot of people that it is not good at all.

Does anyone out there have opinions on that dessert? I skipped it on our trip last week.

How sick is this?

I went back to the first page to see how many Dissers would be at BC/YC during our thread and I almost started crying looking at the pictures! For a long time I couldn't even look at the CL lounge pictures because my heart would hurt thinking we weren't going to be there. Since we upgraded I feel like I'm looking at pictures of our second home.

Dee - please change the BC gv to BC CL!!!!!!
I have to tell you, once again, what fantastic job you do putting that first page together. I hope you know how much we all appreciate it.

NOW -

Our Third Annual BC/YC Dis Meet is on Sunday, July 22 at 6:30. You can see the pictures from the first two on page 1.

Is anyone interested in joining us? So fare it's just me, Teena and Magical One (Lauren). We always have a good time - hope you can meet us with the BC/YC Family. Of course there will be some who can't physically be with us but join us in more than spirit (Dee, Pixarmom)!

Awwww, came by for a visit to find out I'm missing another Dis meet :sad1:
I won't be in WDW till mis Aug!!

Don't look at my countdown, I know, I decided to go to AKL, couldn't get a BB offer at BC!
But I'll still come visit :good vibes

Teena- you're at a Dude Ranch? I just got an image of you greeting at BC in a cowgirl outfit and hat :rotfl:

Where is MM :confused3 MIA it seems!

You can keep the key lime pie there and just give me the onion rings. Love them!!!!

If I have a question about the BC Villas, can I post it here or is there another thead just for the Villas?:confused3 I will be taking my first trip to the Villas on 9/3. Thanks, Penny

Teena- I haven't heard you mention them in a few days. How are the feet, any better?

Nope, heel was really bad Sunday and Monday. It never bothers me other than at work. It's bad after a few hours at work so I just start taking the prescription meds ... but then I keep forgetting where I'm working and start saying "welcome to PopCentury". I'm scheduled for another "shot" on Tuesday. Not looking forward to it. It was definitely the most painful shot and the longest shot I've ever had. Maybe this time it will help. He said sometimes it takes 3 shots but he also said sometimes after 3 shots, some people get no relief. Wish I knew if it was going to work because I definitely don't want to put myself through that shot again for nothing. Seriously, that shot hurt more than those kidney stones last summer!!

This is the place for all things YC, BC and BCV!!!

All this talk about key lime pie is making me want some and the only thing I have is a key lime Greek yogurt...so not the same.
