OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Let me see if I can remember without checking my list....Sci Fi Diner, 50's Prime Time, Crystal Palace, Cape May, Rose & Crown, Le Cellier and Rain Forest Cafe. My husband and I ate at the Yachtsman on our honeymoon in 1998 and it was fabulous. I think we want to try Via Napoli too, but we'll see. I think we're going to eat at the Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney the day we arrive. Yummmmmm.:woohoo:

DH loves the fried chicken at 50's PT, and of course dipping the pretzel bread in the beer cheese soup:love: at Le Cellier. We decided to try some new place this time around like Kona and Yachtsman. BTW Via is so very good. This is a must do every trip

This is my dumbest question yet (and yes, as a mom and teacher I know there IS such a thing as a dumb question)--

Where do you check in for the BCV? It is in the BC lobby right? We are staying at BC but we were able to get my dad a studio and I want to know where to tell him to go (he needs step by step instructions)

I am a mom and teacher too :teacher:...but this isn't a dumb question...

BCV also check in at the same area as BC guests. Enjoy your stay!:thumbsup2

My daughter and I are planning a Mother/Daughter trip for Mother's Day 2013, we are trying to work it out that atleast part of our trip is spent at BC CL:cool1:

I LOVE mother/daughter trips!:thumbsup2
Best memories in the world!

Mom took me to WDW when I was little and now, I've been taking her for the last 15 years! Her absolute FAVORITE resort is the BC!
And she is thrilled to be staying CL!

No husbands, no other siblings, just her and me. Spoiling each other.

Ahhhhhh, the best of times. :goodvibes

Christine, I do hope your plans fall into place perfectly!

Today is Dalmation day for me......101 days til BC!! (I saw that on another board and thought it was so cute, that I just had to use it!) :)

Lynn....I hope you're feeling better soon!

Teena.....I hope the past couple of work days have been better for your feet!

To everyone who is at the BC now or headed there this week, have a great trip! :cool1:

Thumbs up for the fried chicken at 50's PT!!!!!!! Love it!

Great to hear...I've had good luck with them so far on my two trips.

And booking Chef's Table? I can't wait to hear about that!

I'm so excited for Chef's Table...my hubby is a chef (not professionally trained) but has been wanting to try it ever since we heard about it! I'll be sure to give a complete trip report on that meal alone!! LOL

So here is the scoop on IPO getting my ADRs...

They were able to get everything we wanted, except for Coral Reef (due to the tables not released yet) and Chef's Table at V&A...BUT

Lucky for me being an obsessive planner, when it was 6:45 and I hadn't heard from them I panicked and starting booking all of my high profile ADRs just in case...I GOT THE CHEFS TABLE...

So at 8AM when I got the e-mail from IPO, I was able to go back in and cancel any duplicates that I had.

Just noticed your ticker. We did almost the same set up on our last trip - BLT/BCV, except backwards. It's a great split! Hope you enjoy it as much as we did. :)

Thanks so much. We are looking forward to going back to the YC. We will be there in 13 days.:woohoo::yay::woohoo:

We are staying CL so not sure if on-line check-in applies?

Thank You So Much, she is more then my daughter, she is my best friend, we do everything together and she loves Disney just about as much as I do.

I went thru a divorce this year along with some other things, she has been there and helped me thru it all. I could not ask for a better 21 year old!

OK, I am so excited right now. I just booked parasailing :wizard: for my DH for his birthday ( which is during our trip). He is going to be so surprised and so happy . I am not sure I want to go with him ( a bit of a fear of heights) but I think he will be disappointed if I don't, so I booked a tandem flight.

Oh a rainy June 12th I can't help be get excited that exactly 5 months from today not only will I be waking up at the BC and spending a day in Epcot but I'll be celebrating my birthday

I also don't think my DBF realizes how much he and this trip are centering me with all the stress that's be happening. I may have lost some control of my life but at least I can control my WDW plans...

Now just to stop second (and in some cases third) guessing ADRs at the new restaurants we'll be eating at :rolleyes1

Now I do have a question, not necessarily BC/YC based but hey ya'll are very helpful - What inexpensive ideas can you come up with for celebrating a birthday? We already have dinner at Yachtsman planed as a "fancy smancy dinner" but any other little things (maybe BC/YC exclusives) you can think of to make a birthday a little extra special (as if a birthday in WDW wasn't special enough).

Sounds like we might share a birthday, or at least a similar time! (Nov 12 for me!)

The number one thing to do is to tell everyone you're celebrating a birthday;)....wear the buttons they give you, and you never know what might happen!:goodvibes

Custom cakes can be ordered from the BC/YC bakeries to be delivered at dinner, but that is a pricey option (though some of the cakes are gorgeous!)

FW cruises can be rented through the BC/YC Marina. Also pricey.

Less expensive, but lovely: stroll along the beach, take a moment to swing in one of the bench swings out in the sand. Stroll along the boardwalk at night, head over to the piano bar over by BWI to catch a drink and some music.

I'm November 12 too! :woohoo:

I am going to rock the birthday button (I did this back in 2010 too)...

Thanks for the ideas. I've toyed with getting a mini cake with the justification of it'd be for my birthday/DBF first WDW trip

Cking in at BC 6\30...when should we make a room request. Want a waterview and nearest Epcot Entrance...thanks in advance.

What type of room did you book? If you booked a waterview, you certainly don't have to request it because you booked that. If you booked a garden or standard view, requesting a waterview doesn't work. As far as near Epcot entrance, you can add that request any time. When the room assignors start assigning rooms, it will be on the reservation.

Just wanted to give you a :welcome: to this thread and posting on the DIS!

We have a list on page 1 of the dates of upcoming stays for guests. I'll add you to it.

As Teena says, you can make the request to be near the EPCOT entrance anytime- call the number you use to book trips, or contact your travel agent if you used one.

I like to call and confirm that my request is on the reservation a couple of weeks before my stay.

You can do online checkin, but I don't think there is really any reason to.
