OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Lucysmom-Just noticed your ticker is a few days ahead of mine!!!!:woohoo:
I am ready now so it is going to be a long wait!

I know what you mean. Reading the posts actually helps get a Disney fix. My DH and I keep reviewing our agenda and our ressies. It's a weird thing, though. The anticipation is such a big part of the fun, that when the ticker gets closer, I actually wish it would slow down. I know from experience that once you are in the world, it is only a wink and a blink before it is over! And then we have to go back to school! If only we could live in the magic all of the time!! I hope you have a great trip. We might run into each other at Stormalong Bay. I plan to spend a lot of time there, just floating that lazy river!

Thanks for the weather feedback. We decided not to come because this was going to be a quick girls trip no ADR's made or real plans. If it ws our big family trip we would definitely be going. We live at the beach in SC and the weather looks like it will be great all weekend after 4 days of rain so we will have fun at the beach and pool here. Hope everyone has a great vacation at the BC that is coming up. IT IS A WONDERFUL PLACE.

The beach sounds great (and no traveling and no extra expense)!

I'm really relating to that sentiment about now. We leave tomorrow and for the last 3 days I've been kind of melancholy. The sooner it's here, the sooner it's over. I will be making every effort to take in every ounce of it. :goodvibes

Just back- I'm officially a Beach Club convert!! I cannot imagine going back to another resort. We have a family trip booked for late August at Coronado Springs, and I don't know how I'll do it! Teena got my wheels turning about looking into changing that trip to BC using my bounceback offer- I was frantically trying to make it work before my check-out time, but alas, I was not able to. I guess it's time to start saving for 2013 :thumbsup2

It was nice meeting Teena- we had a lovely conversation about the merits of the occassional adults-only trip to WDW! Thanks Teena, and thank you all here on the thread, for helping to make this an amazing trip .

KJay -- I'm wondering if I'll become a BC convert, too. I will find out very shortly!

Teena -- I will stop by to see you on Sunday -- looking forward to meeting you!

We have stayed CL lagoon view before and were in a room down near the end of the hall overlooking SAB and most of the lagoon. My question is, if we book CL LV, is this stretch of rooms the only lagoon views, so we would have one of these rooms?

And do any of them have 2Q and a daybed?

To me, it would seem there are 3 sections of CL water view rooms -- the section you talk of at the end of the long hall (toward YC), stretching along SAB with views of the lagoon, the section in the short hall overlooking the back entrance with more limited views of SAB & the lagoon, and the section of the hall (toward Epcot) that would have some lagoon views.

I know some of those rooms do have the 2 queens & daybed, but I don't know how many.

We visited BC a few weeks ago and it converted me! My favorite resort was always Poly or Cont, DH use to always try to get me to try BC mostly because he loved Epcot but we all came home loving BC. I would have never dreamed that I would love it over the Poly but I do and I can't wait to go back! Seriously I am trying to figure out how we can go back for like a 5 day visit. The bad part was I hated leaving the resort to go to the parks! This is so not me! :cool1:

Thanks for your reply!

I'm trying to find pics of the back of the resort, so I can figure out what rooms have full balcony's. Guess I'm just trying to see what my options are. I know the stretch at the end of the hall, the "dormer" rooms, have them, which is where we stayed. Despite that we are four adults, I would take a full balcony over a daybed ANYTIME. I LOVE LOVE LOVE having a full balcony with a full view of the Boardwalk, I consider it an extension of our room. I sit out on it in the early mornings and at night before bed....love the lights and the sounds of the Boardwalk and Friendship boats. My "happy place" I guess you could call it:love:.

I know, I could stay at YC and be guaranteed the full balcony. But I think I would feel like I was cheating on my husband!!

Good afternoon to all. :goodvibes

Well, we took the 'plunge' yesterday and went for 10 Day No Expire tickets (instead of the increased-price APs). Now we're set for our little mini vacation in January ... and sometime next year, hopefully. :thumbsup2

Come on along! I only used 3 of our 4 allowed bags (I probably could have gotten away with 2, but a gal's gotta have her shoes :rolleyes1)

Yes! An extra bag just for shoes -- I know this well. I don't know what I'd do without Southwest... :worship:

Hope you're having an excellent time!

This describes me perfectly! I spend months getting excited and making lists and planning. When it gets close to leaving for Disney, I get all stressed and start sleeping horribly. :upsidedow It's not supposed to work that way.

Just back- I'm officially a Beach Club convert!!

Lovely pic of you and Teena! And is that a tremendously useful Baggalini I see there? :thumbsup2 (I still haven't swapped back from my Baggalini to a regular purse ... since last September! )

Well funny you ask...last summer there was a wedding while we were there and I could see the fan moving and thought to myself that is like a glass of water on a forest fire..it was August 2011 when we were there last. I went down later , fan was still running, and either it was my imagination but it did not seem THAT bad....it was for sure very warm but it is nicely shaded open area - I think the roof does more than the fan. I wouldn't wanted to have stood there for an hour but if the ceremony is short and sweet i think you will be fine!

Defo short and sweet

Good eye! Yes it is a tremendously useful Baggalini! I probably won't switch for a while either- I love it!! :thumbsup2

Really thinking about booking another trip to DW next year!! I was going to take a year off but I just don't know if I am strong enough! :)

We stayed at the Beach Club last month and I had the best time ever. I've been playing around with dates and different resorts....but I just can't LOL!!! I really LOVED the Beach Club. I did a comparison on the BCV and it wasn't bad at all. I'm wondering if I should try there?

It would only be me and probably my son...so is that silly to book a villa for two? It just looked really spacious and cozy.

I do have a question..do all of the bathrooms at BCV have jacuzzi style tubs?

And I'm not sure if anyone remembers me but I went to BC with my dd7 last month. We had a fantastic time and had the best CM ever! Her name is Heather. She welcomed us and made my little girl feel so at home! Well...my daughter was actually the flower girl in her wedding this past weekend. It was an awesome experience! And it was also a suprise for Heather!

So...even after our vacation has ended we are still experiencing the Magic! :wizard:

Thanks for the heads up. It's always good to check which I have been doing.

I checked but we got such a good deal when I booked that the current decrease in fare is still a lot more than I paid! I got a round trip from Manchester NH to Orlando for $289.60. :thumbsup2 The same flights today are just over $500 rt. :sad2:

The main reason I've been checking is because SW got rid of their early early morning flight. The earliest flight out now is 8:40am. We loved the earlier flight they had which left around 6:30-7:00am! I guess on the bright side, I won't have to get up before the sun and will be able to stay up later while at Disney!

Wow that is a great price :thumbsup2

There are no more early bird flights for us either :confused3 The non-stop flight, which was the cheapest, didn't leave till 2:30pm !!!! So I talk my husband into going a day early so we didn't waste a whole day with travel. We will be spending on night at AoA in the Little Mermaid room

Hi all! I just wanted to thank everyone who organizes and contributes to this fabulous thread. My family will be staying at the BC for the first time this August (17th-25th). This will be our first trip off the monorail loop since 2006. Both DS(11) & DD(9) having been wanting to try an Epcot resort since, on one of our previous trips, we took the launch from DHS to Epcot and they got a good look around. After reading through the various threads for each of the Epcot resorts, we opted for the BC because it looks like one of the most fun!

Definitely can't wait!!!!

Thanks again for the great resource, and, as our trip gets closer, I'm sure we will have a 101 questions!:woohoo:

I got you all beat! I'm not going back until 2014 and I'm already thinking about flights and possible cruises! Does anyone know how late you would have to book an international flight when you are coming off a cruise? Am I nuts to go straight home from the boat? I was thinking of doing a cruise at the end, but it seems like it makes more sense to do it in the middle of my split stay. That seems crazy too though! We are definitely going for two weeks this time, and have never cruised, so I only wanted a 4 day cruise tops.

Well if you are going to go for two weeks, it only makes sense that you take two years to plan it!

Why don't you have a ticker up yet? ;)

The 1 and 2 bedroom villas have the jacuzzi tubs, the studios do not. I think staying there with your son would make it super special!

Hello YC/BC fans :goodvibes:goodvibes What's the latest info on SAB? Is everything completed? Looking forward to going back soon! :cloud9: I can already taste the Beaches n Cream

What's the latest info on SAB? Is everything completed?

The unplanned repair of the pool filtration system back in April was completed ahead of schedule. All is back to as normal as one could expect for SAB for a hot, summer-time weather day.

That is great to hear, as I am looking forward to spending more time at the resort than the parks this time around ;)
