OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Wish_upon_a_star35, she is absolutely GORGEOUS! Thanks for sharing those pictures. That dress was adorable, too. What a princess... and I've got a fond place in my heart for that bracelet she was wearing. :thumbsup2 (Now, if only my kiddo would stop pilfering it. )

Wish_upon_a_star35, such a great story! Your daughter looks so pretty in that gorgeous dress! You are such an amazing family too!
After reading your story about meeting Heather, all I could think was "It's a Small World!"

Also, I think I see that you have to pay (booo!) for the transfers, and I'm assuming they will do resort/DCL/resort transfers for the same price as airport/DCL/airport transfers...

I can't believe I'm already planning this! :lmao:

You are correct. Unless they have recently changed, the fee is $35 per person each way (they may charge $69 round trip - haven't done that recently). They do tend to pick up late (11:30 - 12:30) from the resorts, and usually stop at more than one resort, so you might want to keep that in mind.

I'm sure Teena has us beat on the # of cruises, but after 11 (soon to be 12) DCL cruises, I'm pretty comfortable answering questions. The cruise line forum also has some pretty knowledgeable cruisers as well.

You're right, they pick up late at the resorts and therefore you don't get to the port until late.

Since we are platinum guests, we board in the early boarding and love having lunch at Noon on board. Then we have all afternoon to enjoy the ship (sun) or relaxing while unpacking in the stateroom. The first day isn't rushed. If we didn't get on ship until later, it would ruin that first day.

As far as transfers, most people if they have more than two in their party use a private service (van or towncar). It's usually cheaper than paying for 3 or more transfers by Disney and the main reason is you get to tell them what time you are leaving and returning. If you have the early seating for dinners on the ship, you will be off the ship by 7:30 AM (at the latest 8 AM) so you could be back at the resort by 8:30-9:00 AM ... certainly in plenty of time to enjoy a full day at SAB or Epcot!!

We drive of course and we're west of WDW. It's exactly 90 minutes to the port from our house. I've usually got the first load of wash in after a cruise by 9:30 AM.

Thank you everyone!! It is definitely a small world!

Now, I really need to finish my trip report!!! I feel so lost with nothing to plan. I really wish we could go to DW twice each year...or three times!!! :rotfl:

Love that you know your travel time based on your post-cruise laundry routine. :rotfl2:

Loved the story - time to go check out and get caught up on your trip report!

My mini vacation at the BC with Jeanne, Bob and Princess Lily in August has changed to the DARK SIDE. They have a special for CMs and to get the special rate I need to be at the YC. I may switch over a day or two before I get there if there is availability at the BC but as of now, it looks like we'll be staying at the YC which will be a tad more convenient for Lily's side of SAB.

Oh no! Did AoA steal someone from BC CL?

I swear I recognize the guy in the first picture of Snow White's post here. Does anyone else recognize him from CL? I swear he looks very familiar; he was such a sweetheart... and hilarious to boot. Wish I could remember his name! :confused3

If that is him, BC must steal him back! pirate:

Edit: Jacob? That looks like him. I think that's his name... I had to go back and read my review of our BC stay from last year.

Yay! We just booked a stay at a studio at the BCV for 5 nights in January and I am so excited!:yay::woohoo::dance3:

It has been over 10 years since we've stayed at our beloved BC and, in roughly 10-15 Disney trips, we have never stayed at a DVC property- nor have we ever even stepped foot in the BCV! The cost savings to rent points were simply too great to pass up.

So what should I get excited about at the BCV? Did we make the right DVC choice?! Granted, the posters on this thread may be a bit biased. ;)

Can't wait to be back!

Well fast forward to last week, I get an email from her mom. Apparently Heather told her mom all about me and my little princess! Her mom thought it would be awesome to suprise Heather with Selah as her flower girl in her wedding.

What an amazing story! So touching. Thanks so much for sharing.

Yes, that's Jacob. He left us a few weeks ago and is very happy in his new position.

So, I had a talk with my hubby and kids last night, and I just changed our August reservation from Water View to Club Level Lagoon View!!! The price difference surprisingly wasn't that bad since we had our bounceback offer. We have stayed on Club Level twice for our last two trips, but only because we were VERY magically upgraded at check in....and I have to say, once you get to experience that, it's very hard to think about not having it! Not only are the food and drink offerings great, including the breakfast, but with three of us of "drinking age", it's really nice. But really, the best part is having our own personal assistants, just waiting there to help us with anything. They are so nice. It's such a convenience! Love getting off the elevator and having people there to greet you and answer your questions.

Teena, this is all your fault:thumbsup2

I'm sorry! But congrats ... you made a really good move! Make sure you contact IPO and have them set up all your dining, recreation and any other reservations you may need.

I've just booked Beach Club CL for Oct and we're super excited! :yay: My question is if I contact them are they able to get an adr somewhere that the system says is full? Thanks :)

Sometimes they seem to get lucky.

Oh no. Glad he's happy over there though. :thumbsup2

If AoA even thinks about stealing you Teena, we'll all just have to go on a BC-Bests kidnapping mission... :tiptoe:
