OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

It would only be me and probably my son...so is that silly to book a villa for two? It just looked really spacious and cozy.

So...even after our vacation has ended we are still experiencing the Magic! :wizard:

I am going in Sept for the pin event. DH may not be able to go with so it will be just me & I booked a 1 bedroom:scared1: I like the room and having a washer and dryer available. I like the large freezer for water and I like spreading out my pins. plus I use a scooter for back problems and there is room for me and the scooter. I find the studio a little cramped (as I do a regular bedroom). Anyway, this is my only trip this year and my first in the Beach Club so I am living it up. :lmao: Enjoy your trip. :goodvibes Penny

I got you all beat! I'm not going back until 2014 and I'm already thinking about flights and possible cruises! Does anyone know how late you would have to book an international flight when you are coming off a cruise? Am I nuts to go straight home from the boat? I was thinking of doing a cruise at the end, but it seems like it makes more sense to do it in the middle of my split stay. That seems crazy too though! We are definitely going for two weeks this time, and have never cruised, so I only wanted a 4 day cruise tops.

I love that you are thinking ahead to 2014 :dance3:
Never been on a cruise but I've heard that they're best taken at the end of a trip to wdw so you can recover from all the touring of parks etc:)

So glad you had a great time! I'm a bit curious how you meet a CM on vacation and then surprise her with your daughter being a flower girl at her wedding though! Do tell...

Hey Feckless!! I LOVE telling this story! Well, when me and my dd7 got off the DME (The coolest ride ever BTW) we were welcomed by so many wonderful staff at the Beach Club! Heather checked us in and it was then that we found out that she is actually from our home town and still has family and many ties there! She grew up about 30 minutes away from where we live.

Well she asked us if we were celebrating anything special during our visit at DW. I explained to her that we were at Disney previously on a Make A Wish Trip! I talked to her about a few of her illnesses and how she is doing MUCH better and Heather started to tear up. (I'm a cryer so, I almost lost it as well) The whole time during our trip Heather and a few other CM's (Patrick in specific) were absolutely amazing to us! We ran into Heather one day at Magic Kingdom purely by coincidence and she asked to take a few pictures with my little Peanut.

Her pictures turned out pretty nice and I gave her my email to send them to me once I got back home! She emailed me the pictures and told me how meeting me and my daughter had a profound impact on her :goodvibes

Well fast forward to last week, I get an email from her mom. Apparently Heather told her mom all about me and my little princess! Her mom thought it would be awesome to suprise Heather with Selah as her flower girl in her wedding. She apologized for the short notice, but honestly I was so honored I did not mind at all! I will upload a few pictures shortly if you guys would like to see! Of course the wedding theme was Disney and my dd got to wear a princess-like dress! princess:

The unplanned repair of the pool filtration system back in April was completed ahead of schedule. All is back to as normal as one could expect for SAB for a hot, summer-time weather day.

Great! What about the wall around the bridge near the hot tub and lazy river? All of that contruction done?? :)

This past weekend, there was still a small bit of construction near the hottub bridge- but that was all!

I like how you think! We are doing 10 days at the BC in August and a Dream Cruise in January. We have also never cruised. We are planning a couple days at the parks at the end since the cruise ends on a Thursday. We are thinking of going with a monorail resort since it's just a couple of days we will probably only do MK and EP. (blasphemy I know!)

Bob and I are big time cruisers ... our favorite lines are Disney and Celebrity. Been on many many many Disney cruises. I'd be glad to answer questions if anybody has any about cruising.

Thank you for sharing the story. I was wondering the same thing!

That is wonderful! Can't wait to see pictures

wish_upon_a_star35, what a special story you have. This is exactly why I love Disney. Magical beyond words. Can't wait to see the pictures. :goodvibes

This past weekend, there was still a small bit of construction near the hottub bridge- but that was all!

Note to anyone concerned about these walls, they DO NOT effect any of SAB, just the walking area around it. So for anyone concerned, SAB is fully open and helping all guests of BC/YC/BCV deal with the heat and humidity.

I will upload a few pictures shortly if you guys would like to see!

This is one GREAT story and OF COURSE we want pictures!! Do you think we come to this board to look at pretty little letters?

Never been on a cruise but I've heard that they're best taken at the end of a trip to wdw so you can recover from all the touring of parks etc

There was a healthy discussion about this topic over on the cruise board. I've done it both ways and I was still beat up by the time I get home. Needed a vacation from the vacation. We're doing the cruise and then a one-day shopping spree at DTD this trip. Next one will probably be the land-sea again.

Here are some of the pictures from the wedding!!

Thanks guys!! It was such a humbling experience for me! But then I have to say that I have been amazed many times by the kindness of strangers . We always hear about the bad and evil things people are capable of, but I have met some really wonderful and kindhearted people! I think back to my son's Make A Wish Trip, there were so many lovely people here with some really great advice and tips! And the Disboutique Ladies were beyond amazing!!!

We had such a lovely time during our trip. Before we left I told my daughter that this trip was going to be a lot different than her Wish Trip. I talked to her about being patient in the lines for the rides and about how it wouldn't be the same, but we would find little ways to make it special.

The best moment for me was when she told me while we were on the DME on our way home that it was just like her wish trip because everyone was so nice to her at the Beach Club! She said she felt like she got her wish all over again! She absolutely adored the CM's there!

That's such a sweet story! Looks like your daughter spread a little magic to the CMs trying to spread Disney magic to you!! :wizard:

LOVE LOVE LOVE the story, and the pictures were so sweet! Love her dress!

I just KNEW you weren't a stalker who "surprised" a bride with a flower girl she met at work!!!! JOKE!!!! :rotfl2: (that might make a good movie, though!! LOL!!)

Teena, I might just take you up on that! Right now I'm trying to get my head around transfers, and how they will deal with your bags for the kind of split stay I'm thinking about. Also, I think I see that you have to pay (booo!) for the transfers, and I'm assuming they will do resort/DCL/resort transfers for the same price as airport/DCL/airport transfers...

I can't believe I'm already planning this! :lmao:
