Dee (and any other of my MA neighbors) - I have a totally off-topic question (so please feel free to PM me).
My bday is at the end of the month, and since I can't be at WDW, I'm trying to figure out something else to do. Hubby and I both have the day off. It is a Thursday, so we only get the 1 day, so no overnight stays would be possible. We are just looking for something fun to do that we can drive to and just enjoy the day. Boston is out because I work in the city and really don't want to come back on my day off. Anyone have any other ideas? Sure, we could go down the Cape, but where specifically and to do what? I've lived here forever and I'm just drawing a blank. Hubby is originally from NJ, so there is plenty he hasn't done yet, but I can't seem to come up with any ideas.
Thanks for any input.

You have to come through the city but the Harbor Islands are a great way to spend the day. There are ferries that hop to the various islands. The view is amazing, lot's of hiking, beaches etc.
Also not sure where around Boston you live but Portsmouth is a cute little town to spend the day.

Live report from SAB:
I will try to have less autocorrect mistakes today
Yesterday we once again spent the majority of the day at SAB. DH says parks in the early am, then pool all day and Epcot at night is all he wants
Ate a late lunch at beaches and cream where we split a chicken salad and then a no way jose
Showered and went to the aquarium at Epcot around 7:00. Spent some times watching the manatees play. They were wrestling with each other and it was pretty darn cool. Then we went to the Mexican boat ride and wandered into some stores in the world. At 8:45 we split an individual pizza at via. We were nOt all that hungry so it was a small meal which was perfect with a glass of Italian red wine.
We then leisurely strolled back to the room after a lap around the boardwalk where DH grabbed a beer. We then sat out on our balcony and just talked and it was so nice
Today promises to have much of the same slow pace and relaxation which is just what we both need
This is exactly what we are doing on our upcoming trip. We arrive at MCO at midnight. Basically take one elevator and hit the pillows. In the morning one elevator ride to ME counter. On the return flight we are doing the same for our 6am flight. We'll stay until the last ME bus leaves.
I have stayed at this hotel and it is pretty nice. Nicer I am guessing that the Values. (not that we will be there long enough to care)

Sounds like a perfect summer day!Enjoy the rest of your stay!
Just out of curiosity-- aside from the Kitchen Sink, what are the "best"/most popular dessert options at B&C? I seem to read a lot about the No Way Jose...
For those of you who didn't know, my mother lost her 3.5 year battle with Stage IV breast cancer on June 12She was 61 years young.... My girls and I are trying to keep Dad company as much as possible and my 9 year old hopes that in the coming years, we can bring him with us to the Beach Club (he's only ever stayed at Ft. Wilderness in the cabins when we were kids...)
I just wanted to check in and say that I do enjoy reading all your posts and feel as though I've missed tons! I have a lot of reading to do...
I'm sorry for your loss and firsthand know what you are going through. We lost my father on June 3rd to ALS....he was just shy of 67 years young.
Give your father some time, and then bring him along on a family trip. Trust me, the Mouse is good medicine![]()
I have stayed here for a different reason but it is nice. What time, any idea, would the last ME bus be????thanks Jill

The No way Jose is a peanut butter/fudge delight.
There is also a gooey brownie sundae and a milky way sundae as well. All look fantastic!
Hi, I've posted a few times on here since booking the Beach Club for August '13, but have been a bit preoccupied this year with my mum's illness, her passing and sorting out her estate. Things are finally getting back to normal and I can get into planning mode.
We have booked the Beach Club for a week next August with free DDP and I have a few questions.
Is there anywhere onsite that does counter service breakfast?
If I request a full balcony, am I pretty likely to get one? (I'm starting to wonder if I should have booked the Yacht Club).
We have booked garden view, are these rooms ok or would I be better off upgrading? (bearing in mind that we probably won't spend a huge amount of time in the room).
Is the laundrette 24hr? (I usually wake up really early on the first few mornings due to jet lag, so I could get the washing out of the way whilst everyone else sleeps).
Thank you
