OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

We booked CL GV for December...Gazebo View would still be an option for that level, right?

I believe your answer is that gazebo view in CL is an option but having never stayed CL I will bump your question and see if anyone with direct knowledge of YC-CL is on the board reading this.

We'll be staying at YC Aug. 20-25 after a one night at ASMo. Crossing those two off the list will leave me with two left to stay at all (non DVC) the WDW hotels. Favorite so far? Beach Club!!!

One stay on the "dark side" and that will change. We'll be getting Princess Lilly hiooked pretty soon. If she can't convert her grandmother, then she can work on grandpa. I know for a fact they are suckers for anything their little princesses want.

Thanks Katesdad and all who answered my question. :goodvibes

I'll update the info on the Be Our Guest List.

Glad to hear that BC is your current fave! We will be interested to hear your thoughts and comparisons after your YC stay.

Now, I will say that before I read this, I was totally fine with whatever I got upon check in at the YC. I mean, it's Disney (and the YC!), right? But you make that sounds soooo awesome. We booked CL GV for December...Gazebo View would still be an option for that level, right?

I am not an expert on YC by any means, but I'm almost positive that there are 5-6 YC CL rooms that overlook the wedding gazebo. I think scotmel knows for sure, so hopefully she will come on and confirm if she sees this.

Pick up some Earplanes for him (found in the ear care section of any CVS or similar pharmacy). They make adult and pediatric sizes. I used them for my infant/toddlers (they've outgrown the problem now) and my adult friend, who has extreme problems with ear pain when flying, swears by them for herself. They definitely work in my experience.

Thanks so much! Sounds like lots of people here use earplanes. Glad to hear they work!

I think I can "Help" you with this.... ;)

If we gather up a few of those Day Beds from the Yacht Club and a roll-away bed or two we should have you covered. Now we have to work out where to put you.

The Solarium might be good BUT all those early birds getting coffee and croissants might be too perky and wake you up too early.

The covered walkway between the BC and the BCV might be good and you'd get plenty of patio space but there is no plumbing and if it rains you're going to get wet.... so that's out!

There is the lobby right by Cape May Cafe. This is a good location because you'll be the first in line for your breakfast ADR and you can sleep in right up until the hostess takes you to your table... BUT they frown upon wearing your jammies to the restaurant so that might not work.

I've heard that the bus stop is covered at deluxe resorts so that might be an option BUT then all those little kids jumping on your roll away bed while they wait for the bus might not be the best thing.

There is the boat dock where the light house is. If you are in to night lights this might be the place for you BUT I've read recently that the light bulb is burned out so that's a no go.

That only leaves Storm Along Bay. I'm thinking that platform that is at the top of the slide. Now keep in mind the beds are gonna be a bear to get up all those steps but the trip down is going to be a record setter. Just make sure you bring your room key on the way down so you can get a wrist band!

Have a FANTASTIC TRIP!!! :beach:

If they are outdoories people they can probably just set up sleeping bags on the sand volleyball court. It might be soft enough.... just rain and possibly bugs to watch for or...

the walkway that leads to the shortcut to Epcot, but those that have had 1 too many grey goose slushies might stumble into the daybed....

Hi
I know that I've seen it before but can't find the map with the jogging trails on it? Can someone point me in the right direction? Thank you !!!

Well, 3 months from this exact moment I'll be in a plane somewhere over the mid-Atlantic, but 3 months from later today and I will be at the Yacht Club!!!

8 weeks for me!! Our flight lands at around 8 am, so hopefully I will be getting the rental car and heading to BC!! :cheer2:

11 days for me, Bob, Jeanne and the Princess herself.

I'm almost done taking everything waist high and below and putting it in the spare room away from grabbing hands. The house looks empty.

The crib is set up and in our room (the only place it fits). Bob keeps looking at it and shaking his head.

Thank you!!! For real, I don't know what is wrong with me, since I have looked at the first page 100 times....maybe it's because we are leaving on the 5th!!! and I'm in full on last minute get everything together mode!!

And may I add Mayhem, the best run (and is not included on the map) is the walkway over HS and back. Not sure of the length, but many use it early in the morning.

I'll second that!! I took that walk every morning of my last visit, on the way back I would go around the lake. It's quiet and peacful (I'm a walker not a runner). I'll have to map the distance when I'm there this Nov.
Enjoy your trip!

Not scotmel, but we stayed in a YC CL GV room (two queen beds, no day bed) this past April and overlooked the gazebo. I think there were at least 5 or 6 CL rooms that had pretty much the same view.

Southwest ... cheapest days are normally Tuesday and Wednesday when they have super sales.

8 weeks for me!! Our flight lands at around 8 am, so hopefully I will be getting the rental car and heading to BC!! :cheer2:

We're supposed to land at 9:40. I think that's the earliest possible, so as soon as we get our rental car, it's off to the YC and an early lunch at Captain's Grille!

Lobster roll???

Wait...is it a roll again? Or still the sliders? Whatever they call it, there will probably be lobster on the plate in front of me.

I did have some lobster for my birthday yesterday too. Lobster and a salted caramel cupcake. Does it get any better?

OMG I was looking at these pics saying wow they look awfully familiar :rotfl:
I think that was the same CL room we had right next to the lounge!!

That does sound like a fantastic b-day!!
I had my first lobster roll of the summer last week. Summer is going by way to fast!
