Hi!

I've just done our check in at OKW, it's the first time staying here and as first time dvc members and we have requested an upper floor with a canal view.

Has anyone stayed in such a room, what your thoughts are or what room/view you have had before and if you recommend it.

If you love OKW like we do, you will be very happy campers! Many of the villas at OKW have water views. The vast majority will have either very nice golf course views or water views. There is a pretty canal that the pontoon boats take from the marina at OKW to Downtown Disney. I personally prefer an upper floor. It means stairs as there are no elevators, but hey! I can walk off some of those Disney calories we eat while there!

Our first stay at OKW was building 46 top floor. It was great. It is not far off the road but we did not hear bus noise in our room. Since then we have booked HH area and stayed twice in bldgs 23-26. I would love to be in 45 or 46 again, but worry if we actually requested it we would get a villa furthest from HH area that backs up to Buena Vista Dr. We lucked out when we were assigned bldg 46 the first time, I had acutlly requested Turtle Pond area.

Oh, and we prefer upper floors - no mobility issues, no strollers and three kids old enough to help carry luggage/groceries up the stairs.

Our very first OKW stay was an upper floor with a water view between the South Point quiet pool and bus stop. I loved that room. It was close to everything except HH, of course, and so scenic. Our kids were very young, so the quiet pool was much more manageable for us at the time. Treks to the main pool took lots of effort.

We've only stayed on the ground floor as I don't do stairs well. But I love OKW. To me, it's the quietest resort, and Olivia's is a great place to eat! Their Banana Bread French Toast is to die for!

last time stayed on the 3rd floor - at the front desk they tried to get me to change (I am old) - but told them I needed to do the steps - so they finally allow me - and boy LOVED IT!!!

the bus noise which on the first floor can be a problem - hardily heard it!

The canal views are quiet lovely and it is a peaceful way to begin and end the day on your patio. We tend to book the Hospitality area now for the convenience of being close to the store and main pool (no car). We are long-time members and love OKW.....I hope you enjoy it as well!
