Old Key West Question

We will be staying at Old Key West for the first time soon. What would you recommend for a room request? We have a standard room. We have a teenager/an elementary age children with us. I know they would like to go to the pool but at the end of the day I know they will not want to walk forever either. With never staying at the resort and looking at maps I can not wrap my head around what to request.

The main pool is nice but it not great. OKW has four pools all throughout the resort, so you shouldn't be too far away from a pool but if that's most important then maybe just near a pool? We like the Miller's Road area ( to the right as you enter), others love the turtle pond area for its remoteness.

We always have had a car at OKW and we like turtle pond.

Peninsular is the most convenient if you don't want to spend forever on the bus going through the resort (it's an easy walk to the hospitality house stop to catch a bus going out and the first stop coming in, aside from DS).

Near hospitality house is most convenient. We wouldn’t stay there if we couldn’t get that.

When we stayed there, we requested the Turtle Pond area bc they have a quiet pool with some food and drink options.

If you think the children would like the resort activities and the slide pool, then near the Hospitality House or on Peninsular Road might be more convenient for your group. Otherwise use the map to find buildings to request that are near the other pools on Miller's Rd, South Point Rd and Turtle Pond Rd.

Thank to everyone for your posts and ideas. We will not have a car. As we will fly down. Normally we stay at a different DVC location but we took what we could get having to rebook our trip. I think I will request Peninsular Road and hope for the best!

Near the Hospitality is always a great location .... not to far from community hall and the big pool

No room recommendations from me but OKW! Hope you enjoy your stay there, be sure to catch at least one meal at Olivia's. It's a lesser-known gem of a restaurant at WDW.
