Old Key West Grand Villa question

I'm thinking of doing an add-on at OKW so that my family can reserve a Grand Villa at the 11-month mark in early December. Can you let me know how hard it will be to reserve this? Could I get shut out, even at the 11-month window?? Thanks for your assistance.

Early Dec is extremely popular. You'd need to call day by day.

Oh, yes, it's hard to reserve a GV, even then. I agree that you need to book day by day. Even day-by-day it can be hard. I called around 2:00 each day, and only got 1/2 my days, so I had to book 2-2 bedroom villas, and go on the waitlist.(I added on at OKW for the GV, too!)

Thanks for the information. I really enjoy going to Disney in December for the holiday season, but even during the Dream Season, it's only 45 points per night. Clearly the best deal for us owners. Hopefully we get our points and don't get ROFR'd.

key words in above post.....book day by day even if MS tells you to call back and do it all at once as I have been told but I ever so nicely tell them no I think I will do it day by day for my own piece of mind.

We're staying at OKW from Dec 19-26th this year. We started calling on the 20th and booked day-to-day for the Grand Villa. On the 26th, we called and were place on hold for 15 minutes and by the time we talked to MS, the Grand Villas were all booked for the 25th, so we had to book a 2 bdrm and be put on the waiting list for the GV. here's hoping for some pixie dust!

I'd be more inclined to add on to my BW....It appears you own @ the BWV?? Why not just try to stay there in a GV??

There are about 26 GV at OKW and they have a much lower point requirement than at BWV. At BWV there are maybe only 6 GV? And they use a lot more points. Same with SSR GV - they require more points than OKW.

Yes...I assume the poster must know this, I'd still add on to the orig "home". Take your chances for Dec..
