Hi friends!

I hadn't paid too much attention to this thread as I was supposed to be at DLR during the week you are planning for instead of here in Vegas.

BUT, my niece's mother got wind of the military discount (her stepdad is in the Army) that they are doing right now, and consequently it looks like we are going to have a change of dates and that I will be at Disney the first week of June instead of the third week of June. SOOOOOO, it looks like I will be able to join in some of the Vegas fun and debauchery after all, although maybe not all of it since I will have to work that week (can't be too hung over at work and I will need to show up for at least a few hours every day)!

Anyhow, I need to go back and catch up on the first twenty pages of the thread, but I would be up for any shows and evening type activities.
I was wondering when you were going to show up!! LOL I was hoping you'd get to join us for some fun.

So I was a bit bored during lecture tonight. Hard to believe since it was the first class meeting. Anywho....I couldn't help but let my mind wander and do a little planning. Sorry if I am going overboard with it, can't help it. So I came up with a sample trip plan. Let me know what you guys think. What do we need to add? What do we need to get rid of? What should be tweaked? You know. I tried to get a little of everything in it. This was what I was thinking........

Mon------Arrive, Lucky Cheng's for Dinner, Pub Crawl on the Strip
Tues-----Hang by the pool, Bar Hopping/Bachelorette party, Mr Lucky's Late Dinner
Wed-----Stripper 101, Lunch at Hooters, Fremont Street at night
Thurs----Hang by the pool, Buffet Dinner, Show?
Fri-------Chocolate Factory visit, Chapel Wedding, Slumber Party
Sat------Brunch then go home
Plan away! I'm open for anything. And we can always tweak it as we go along if need be.

Only two things I'd suggest. One, add another show time. I know they can be costly, but if we go to Ticket2Nite we can get some deals and that's part of what Vegas is known for.
Are we going to do Dick's? And leave room for a Witch Doctor at the VooDoo lounge. ;)
And two, don't forget to do all the freebies like the fountains, pirate show, volcano, conservatory, lions at MGM, and M&M World. They are free so might as well right? :)

Do you have your heart set on the chocolate factory? I only ask, because I've been there dozens of times, and it's rather boring......:rolleyes1 (Sshhhh, don't tell my kids I feel that way! LOL)

We are definitely going to have to work to cram it all in. I want Miss Wendy, our Vegas virgin, to see it ALL!!! :cool1:

Oh I definately plan to do the freebie things as well. I love the volcano and I promise myself to not miss the fountains this time.

Dicks sounds like a fun place. I'd love to go there too. I can't believe I forgot to add it. We need to tweek and get it in there.

And no, I don't have my heard set on the chocolate factory. I just came across that place and thought is sounded fun. Free chocolate you know. But if you say its pretty boring, I will take your word for it.

It really is. I mean if we had tons of extra time, I'd do it, but there are better things to see. They have a cactus garden that they decorate for Christmas that is spectacular, but that time of year it will be hot and boring. LOL I'd rather buy some chocolate on the Strip and save that 1-2 hours for something else.

Sounds good to me.

I made a few additions to the tentative plans. Mr Chengs is dark on mondays so I moved it to the end of the week. I added another show like Beth suggested, took out the chocolate factory, and added Dick's Last Resort.

Plans are still flexible and not set in stone. Will probably change many times. So give your imput.

Are we still going to try for The Lion King?

I think you guys should since you'll be here. I know I want to see it, but I probably won't be able to see it with y'all since Ruben also wants to see it and we are going to try to find a time to go together.

It is expensive though, so I guess it depends on everyone's budget. :confused3

I don't gamble, shop or drink, so shows are my favorite thing to do in Vegas. :goodvibes

If we can find resonable tickets I say yes. I checked out the site Beth had told us about "tickets2nite" and we should look into that. I also saw a few other sites that "locals" can use for cheap tickets. That might be another option.

Unfortunately, you won't find tickets for Lion King there. Those discount ticket places mainly sell ones for shows that are older, or don't always sell out. We might be able to use them for things like comedies, or Tony and Tina's wedding, etc. On occasion you can find KA or Zumanity on there. You have to go that day and see what they have for that evening.
For Lion King tickets they will most likely run you over $100 depending on where you sit.

The Mandalay Bay website says tickets won't go on sale online until Feb. 28, but you can use the Disney Visa info to book now. Stacie, do you still have the PM I sent you with that info?

Yup! I just checked online and the tickets are $113.50, $83, and $56; you can look at the seating chart of the theater. The 3 different pricing levels are Main Level/Front Mezzanine Center, Front Mezzanine Sides/Rear Mezzanine Center, and Rear Mezzanine Sides.

For a show like this, I'd go for the middle or high priced tickets. Just my opinion, but I figure might as well go for it and get the best experience you can.

Of course, I say that and yet, Ruben and I have yet to buy our tickets.....:rolleyes1

I checked Monday, June 22 through Saturday, June 27, for the Best Available seats (I looked for 4, we can get up to 8 at once) and every show gives me Section D, Row A, seats 7-10. The sections included in the 2nd price level are A, D, E, F, G, & H.

Wait, section D costs more then section A? How weird.
Section B must be sold out already. I wondered how fast these tickets would go.

Goldstar.com is another site that has pretty cheap tickets. Give it a look. It changes all the time. So as it gets closer we can keep looking and seeing if a show comes up. Sometimes the tickets are 50% off. Great deals.

hey, I'm up for almost anything (not sure about the stripper thing--is it THEM stripping or US stripping? :scared1: --I've missed something somewhere along the way!) I would like to see shows--the people I usually go with (ex-BF and Mom) aren't really show people.

I do, however, need gambling time. Yes, girls, I am a gambler--a small stakes gambler but I do love my slot machines and an occasional hand of blackjack . . . . and maybe the roulette wheel . . . .and maybe some craps . . . .well, and . . . . So, like we do at DL I anticipate I will need some "alone" time to go feed my passion (the gambling one at least!)

At least there's one more gambler among us! I was starting to think I would have to play blackjack by myself. Or the slots. I don't understand craps, DH plays it and he's tried to explain it to me several times, but there's too much to try and understand. And I also play roulette. When I was little, maybe 5 or younger, when my mom would take me over my aunt's house, we would play roulette, so I'm a pro!!

In the Stripper 101 class, no one actually strips. They teach us how to work the pole and a chair. Its a cardio type class. But its supposed to make us feel more sexy and have fun.

I may not be a gambler, but I have been known to sit at the slots to get my drink. :drinking: I have also done 21 and roulette as well. Fun games for a while, but not totally my thing.

I am totally with you--penny slots + free drinks=fun times (at least for a while)!
