Old Disney Park photos

My husband's aunt recently gave him these old snapshots from a trip they took to DisneyLand when he was four years old (1965).

I found it interesting that the CM playing Peter Pan (lower right) was a woman. You may recall that Sandy Duncan had starred in the play.

Kathy

that was so cool to see these pics....I was 4 in 1965 also and grew up just down the road from Disneyland and we don't have any pictures from Disney during that time period...thanks:thumbsup2

Hi Folks,

The old photos are great!

I'm currently writing a new book on the railroads at WDW...one of the key chapters is the WDW RR in the Magic Kingdom.

I'm in real need of earlier photos of the railroad for the book, prior 1988. If anyone has any of these older photos, I would really like to hear from you!

Thanks!
David

Cool!! I don't have any RR photos. I just wanted to wish you well on your book!

AFAIK, most of the first Peter Pans at DLR had female "friends". One of the first is a friend of mine who currently works at WDW (and not in Entertainment) -- I'll have to show her that photo!

I have a question:

Aren't all pictures taken at a Disney park "Old Disney Park Photos"?

I don't think so. Are all cars on the road "old cars?" Are all people who have been born "old people?"

Photos that I think are appropriate in this thread are views of the parks that are no longer available for one reason or another. Maybe an attraction that is gone, or character costumes that are no longer seen, or even crowd pictures including fashions of bygone days.

Hm. Ever since I could talk (and boy did mom regret teaching me) I've been saying "I'm __ years old" You mean to tell me I wasn't old? I missed out on being young! :sad2: << need a bawling my eyes out smiley. I'm in the mood for a Disney fix - who wants to hit FL with me?

I can still hear the "Fifteen years and we're having a party!" jingle.

We were in the elevator with a man wearing a hat that said, "I'm a winner!!" I think it was in the Living Seas. The had was not particularly disney, just a straw hat with sparkles. My mom asked the man what he won, and he replied, "I won the hat."

Don't know if it was true or not, but we all laughed. I won a pin.

I can still hear that jingle as well and I don't know why because it wasn't a particularly amazing jingle, but I can still hear, "15 years, we're having us a party! 15 years, the party's just begun!" Why it stuck, I don't know.

Could be because it was the year our car got jacked in the Magic Kingdom parking lot. Ha! I was just a kid, but what an experience. Was that our prize? :scared1:

I agree with you. This thread ought to be things are no longer seen or have changed substantially. There are other threads for current items.

I like seeing the old park pics and to see how its changed over the years. Even if the pic is only 10 yeras old. Just nice to see how big the trees have grown etc.

This pic of Pluto, Mickey, and Goofy... where was it taken? Toon Town?

I was wondering about that pic too!

Another not so old one, but you won't see Dreamfinder anymore and not Figment as a puppet either! This was 1997:

I vaguely remember the kiosk in the middle, but don't remember what their purpose was. Anyone remember?

I remember it vaguely too and swear it had film and maps at least (and maybe kind of an info booth?). I can't remember if it also had basic gift shop type items too. Or I could be completely wrong on all counts! ;)
