Can someone enlighten me on what Horizons was all about?

Horizons was a showcase of how the future was going to look like. It was fun and one of my favorites. A family ride

Here is a pic of the pavillion before Wonders of Life was built.

Next year when dgd is 2 1/2, we WILL be bringing the stroller. How the world has changed!!

Great pics. Love this thread!!!! :thumbsup2

Melanie, I can't believe that Frontierland Train Station!! I never remember that! Was it where the current parades end - to the left of Splash now?
Don Pancho, was Horizons where Mission Space is now?

The people in that picture are the reason why this ride was closed....theyre BORED!!!

::yes::

My BIL's best friend works at Disney and he told us a while ago to listen at certain parts...This one part had an African-American guy astronaut and a white woman astronaut and if you listened very closely....... :smooth:
but by the time we got back down there, they closed it!
BTW, that was another ride in which I enjoyed a lil' nappy (even when I was younger!)

Here's an oldie - It was grandfather from the '70s (That's when that "Squished Dopey" picture a few posts above is from) Notice the Bow-Tie - He wore one Every day of his life!

Indyjammer you inspired me to find our pirate photo!
I believe this is from 1981. . . I must have been still wearing braces, as I am the only person hiding their teeth (on right). :teeth:

Where's your bow tie? Seriously, love your pictures, Grandpa's bow tie is as fun as Squished Dopey!

I loved this mural of tons of Disney characters. It was in The Walt Disney Story in the area right before you went in the movie I think.

I think you are right. I remember it being in an open area right about where Splash is now.

I bet that if they re-opened a dress up picture spot like this with the NEW CPT. Jack Sparrow (not to mention Will & Elizabeth Turner) that there would be a longer line for this that for POTC itself! I sure wouldnt mind taking picks with a Cpt Sparrow look alike ( Probably the closest I'll ever get to J. Depp in my whole life!) lol

I would love to do something like that on a wall in a room here in the house! That would be awsome!

I miss the Main Street Electrical Parade.

Tuppence........I agree I would love to paint a mural like that in my house.

Here's mine for today..........I think these boats are gone now.

This was for the 200th birthday of the U.S. Constitution (not of WDW, for those of you in Rio Linda):
