Old Disney Park photos

Fairy_tale_bride, I have this to say: there is nothing more horrifying than going through family photo albums from the 1970s and seeing your dear father in orange hot pants! I cannot believe M E N wore them but some of the pictures posted on this thread have tragically proven that men did wear them! Makes me wonder if any older women are having a LOT of fun looking at these pictures!
I have this to add: I've never been soooooo glad to be a child of the 80s. Oh, and I did stumble across some pics of my parents' first apartment just after they got married. The decor and furniture screamed "WE ARE HIPPIES!!" And horror of horrors: even at work, my boss said he was a Hippy too! Makes me wonder: there was a Disneyland so is there a Hippyland anywhere?:scared1:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:
OMG! I'm one of those "teenager from the 70's"..... and believe me... I destroyed any pics I could find of myself! :lmao:
And..... worse.... my soon-to-be EX-DH was still wearing those aweful short shorts into the early 80's! :lmao: I hated them just as bad then as I do now! :scared1: What was he thinking!!!! :scared1:

The wheel in the pics is on opposite sides... am I wrong in recalling that there were two suits side by side? Much to my son's dismay, they removed these when they renovated for the nemo ride. He was looking forward to finally being able to ready the controls in the hands.

I went back to WDW last year. God, the Nemo ride just stinks. I can't believe a kid would like it. I imagine myself as a kid at some of these rides and they wouldn't interest me at all.

As one who wore bell bottoms and polyester etc.:lmao: I'm hoping that some of those wearing the "show every ounce of excessive inches" outfits of today will look back 30 years from now and wonder why also!

These pictures are making me weepy with nostalgia. I haven't put up any pics yet because I've spent the last two days rummaging through 15 (yes, fifteen) 12x10x18" boxes of photos in my parents' attic in a desperate hunt for the Disney World pictures. I'm on box no. 6 and still haven't found them. But can someone enlighten me on this: was there a theme park called Camp Snoopy or a Peanuts theme park? I found pics dated around 1984 where I'm standing in front of a wooden house next to Snoopy! Sadly, I can't remember having ever gone to a Peanuts theme park before.

Not at Disney. But Camp Snoopy is now at Cedar Point (and I think other Cedar Fair owned parks). But it wasn't there in he 80's. Not sure who had the Peanuts rights back then.

Edit....I did a seach and it might've been Knotts Berry Farm

I just sent a big box of old slides to California for scanning and uploading to a website. I'm hoping to find a few more from my 1979 trip to WDW.

Good luck with the searching!

Here are some pictures from our November, 1985 and 1987 vacations (the first two times I went!).

Thanks, klmall! :goodvibes
It took some digging to find 'em, but I'm glad I put forth the effort. I love looking at all these photos from everyone's old trips. It brings back a ton of memories from the vacations my family took to WDW.

Oh my goodness, this thread is fantastic. I need to scan more of my old Disney photos... there's some down there in the picture in my signature.

A pic of me not so patiently waiting for an unknown little girl to get out of the picture. My first trip to Disney I was 24 and wanted a solo shot of me an Donald. A time when characters roamed free through out the park.

A another ride that has gone away, Mike Fink Keel boats it was in Frontierland by Tom Sawyer Island. From what I remember the boat felt like it was going to tip over.
