If you buy a OKW resale (end 2042) after 3/20; the points would not be eligible for use for the Disney collection.

Can you still buy the extension from Disney? Can you then use those points for the Disney Collection? I am thinking probably not?

The extension is now $25 per point. I don't know about whether it would qualify as an exemption from the new policy. They might allow it only for use with the extension itself - meaning you'd have full use for the 15 years of the extension beginning February 1, 2042.

If use of the Disney Collection is important to you, it might be less costly to purchase thru DVC directly to get that benefit since resale and closing costs plus the extension won't be much different than a direct purchase and you'd have immediate access to the Disney Collection using those points.

I agree with Doc. If you want the extended contract, you will be far better off buying it direct from Disney, since those contracts are all extended and the total outlay price would not be out of line with buying the same thing resale and then adding the extension through Disney.

Right now, I think it depends on the deal you can get with a seller.
Looking at the ROFR thread, I see '42 contracts passing in the mid $40's and
'57 contracts in the $60's. DVC will want $90 for OKW. If you could find, agree on and get a resale now at say $ 42, then you'd add about $500 in closing costs, plus the $25 for the extension that's about $ 65 p/p vs $90 direct.
