OKW - owners get better locations?

I understand that DVC owners are the only people who see "hospitality house" as a preference (non-DVC don't see that option) As a DVC owner at OKW (booking 11 months) are the odds pretty good at getting a HH location? and along that line - at 11 months can you request a specific building (knowing it's just a request no guarantee)

Owners don't necessarily get better locations. Cash bookings get slotted into what is available. If you have a points booking for near HH you will be in one of those buildings, but all the usual statements about requests are requests apply.

Yes, if you are an OKW owner then odds are pretty good to be able to book the HH category. As you say, as far as a specific building though it's just a request.

We don’t own at okw but we just stayed near HH for four nights this week. (Staying on points.)

We own at both OKW and SSR. We have been able to get HH studios a couple times at 7 months with SSR points. Owners since 2017 and we go in the spring and fall. We just stayed in a GV at OKW for a week. The OKW contract was purchased for that reason, to take friends and family, with banking and borrowing we are trying to get one every 3 years. HH GV go fast at 11 months and HH studios also go fast for certain times of the year. There are only 2 HH GV’s.

We were there last week and were assigned a studio in Bldg 18. I despise Bldg 18 and 35 and it seems they like to put us in those buildings when were are in a studio. I asked the CM at the front desk (we had to check in at the desk because there was a problem with one of our bands - the text message didn't give us a room number just the message to see the front desk) if any other building might be available. We had requested ground floor and Millers Road and Bldg 18 met both of those. He was able to give us 41 at Turtle Pond and it was much, much better. 14, 18, 35 and 38 are all square buildings with the studios in the inner corners. So the wall where the window would normally be is the shared window between to neighboring studios. So they tend to be very dark since the only light is the porch doors and those have those Roman Shades that are extremely frustrating to open and close frequently.

When we booked last Jan for that week, by the time I got around to booking, near HH was gone already. I should have checked back after the fact because of covid.

What buildings would be considered near the HH?
11-14 and 23-26. It's a booking category.

Building 23 is my favorite location with 26 being a close 2nd, and I always request those (and have yet to be told no.) We always book 2 bedroom villas. Its a short walk to the HH (less than 5 min) has a good view and is the 1st pick up/drop off on the bus route, but if you miss the bus, you can do the short walk to the HH bus stop (which is 5th) and catch it there. I have small kids and strollers, so I also book a bottom floor because strollers and stairs suck after 12 hours in the parks.

Help - I have a 3 bedroom villa 12/30-1/2
What is best building to ask for? What is worst building?
Not planning on doing parks - just a relaxing family escape.
And I am a DVC member - OKW just isn't my home resort.

Thanks in advance

Here is map and 3BR GV are outlined in yellow. HH section is in blue. I suppose you didn't book HH section. So if you want to be closest to HH, then # 16. Turtle Pond section is nice and quiet, far from HH, but pool there has food counter (if it's open...don't know). #43 is there. Then, I always wanted to be on the canal to see the boat drive by...think that would be, maybe, #53. Actually, no, don't think that would be canal front. #45, 46 are best canal front and #55 is decent.

I would say 15 or 16 are probably the best. We were in building 22 in a GV last month, we were a little worried, it is close to the parkway, only vehicle we heard was a motorcycle driving like a nut, nice and quiet the rest of the time. 63 is a elevator building, so they usually reserve those for people who have issues going up stairs. Be prepared to walk up a flight of stairs, all GV’s are on the 2nd and 3rd floor.

Thanks - I was sooo excited 45 & 46 are my favorite bldgs . Love that canal view and boats coming by. When I called I found out that neither of those 2 have 3 bedroom villas. Meh - its ok. It's New Years at Disney. Thanks for the map & circles, it helped a lot
Happy New Year!

We were just in 43 in a studio earlier in the month. I think 43 has GVs and it is very close to the Turtle Pond pool. Plus it is right next to a water trap for the golf course (water trap means small lake). It's a short walk to the bus stop and seemed like plenty of parking.
