OKW GV & Ticket Questions

We want to use some plastic bags that you use a vacuum to pull the air out to pack. Is there a hose attachment on the vacuum in a Grand Villa to pack to come home?

Are the DVD's to rent at Hanks only Disney movies? What kind of moves do they have? Current?

When we get there next Saturday, we would like to be able to let our son and his friend loose on the parks first thing, and my husband and I will check in. He has a voucher for a DVC annual pass, his friend has a 5 day park hopper that needs to be upgraded to a 7-day park hopper. My son is 16, but we have given him a credit card on our account. Can he take care of this himself at the ticket booth, or must my husband or I be with them since we are the DVC members. Both my husband's and son's first name are the same. Can my son just explain at the booth? Also - do cell phones generally work well at Disney?

Has anyone taken the ferry to Saratoga? Do you just go down to the dock area and wait?

Cellphones work fine at Disney. I'll leave the other questions alone and wait for the experts in those areas.

There are special similar bags you can purchase for travel. Instead of using a hose, you roll the bags up to get the air out of them. A one-way valve releases the air from the bags, but doesn't let air into the bags.

Most of the movies are Disney movies, or movies made by Disney companies, and no, they are usually not very current. That is one thing I have always wished; that they would have a better selection of movies.

All of the vacuum cleaners I have seen at OKW are uprights with no hose.

The movies are hit and miss too. We went one afternoon to find absolutely nothing in. Then we went the next day and they had three shelves full. It is nice when they do have them in because they are free. Great if its raining or cold out (only thing is then EVERYBODY wants DVDs!). We ended up watching "Miracle" (about the hockey team).

There are no hose attachments on the vacuums.

Your son will be asked for the DVC membership card and a photo ID. It might be best for one of the actual members to be there. He might be all right by himself, but you never can tell.

We just returned from WDW (OKW specifically) and had great cell phone reception all over with Cingular.

The boat to SSR/DD leaves on the hour from the OKW dock from 11:00am until 4:00pm and on the hour and 1/2 hour from 4:30pm until 11:00pm. The boat stops at SSR on each leg of the trip on the 1/4 hours from 4:45 until 11:15 pm.
