Thinking through a bit of a last minute late May/early June trip. Part of our party is arriving a day early so I was planning to reserve either a studio or 1 bedroom unit for 1 night and a 2 bedroom lock-off for the next four nights. But when I started thinking about dining, there are probably some character meals (Princess) that a couple of the adults might want to take my daughter to but my boys would rather spend more time in the parks than eating sit down meals. So if I broke the reservation into 2 (studio for one and 1 bedroom for the other) it would allow me to purchase the dining plan for only part of our party. But then doing that there would be a chance that we won't be in the 1 bedroom/studio units next door to each other so it might not be worth the risk and could be best to pay out of pocket for each meal. Anyone request 1 bedroom and studio units next door to 1 another and if so, were you able (or not able) to get your request fulfilled?

You can request it, but the chances are you might not get it. You might not even be in the same building.

If you don't want to risk it, I would book the lock off.

All OKW 1 bedrooms and studios are lockoffs so you have a decent chance depending on how full the resort is. Separate reservations will cost you more points.

But if you are talking different dining plans for the occupants of the studio vs the occupants of the one bedroom, you'd have to book them separately. You can't book a lockoff and get different dining plans.

Thanks for pointing out that booking separately vs the 2 bedroom lock off will cost more points. Looks like it will cost 6 more points if booking them separate. Think I'll just stick w/ the 2 bedroom lock-off and skip the dining plan. We've used the dining plan in the past (both purchased and free dining) but I refuse to pay the adult dining plan for my 2 boys (13 and 10). If I booked separately, my sister and I would have enjoyed taking my 5 year old daughter to some of the character meals on the dining plan. Guess we can still do some princess meals but might end up paying a lil bit more out of pocket. But the extra points cost and risk of not being in the adjacent units isn't worth it. I hope we still love OKW! We've visted 3 times before but it has been many years and my daughter has never been there.

If you are a DVC member or a FL resident or an Annual Passholder, you can buy the Tables in Wonderland Card and get a discount on most of your tableservice dining, including character meals. DVC and FL res cost $100; AP holder cost $75. It takes 20% off your dining, but will include an 18% tip. A few counter service dining places are included in the list. Once you hit $375 (AP rate) or $500 (DVC or FL rate) you have redeemed the cost of the card.
