OKW first timer questions...

Will the Turtle Shack snack bar be open end of April, beginning of May? It says it's open seasonally?

How is the arcade at OKW?

Are buildings 40-44 a good location if we want to be near a pool and bus top?

Is OKW as big and spread out as SSR? I'm just trying to imagine how far certain areas are from the HH.

I read certain buildings have been rehabbed. Anyone know which ones?

If I wanted a room close to the HH, but didn't book that specific area, what's the next best building to be in that is close to the HH? Looking at the map it appears #27 might be a good choice. Am I correct?

Thanks for any help you can give! We leave in under 2 weeks and I am getting antsy on what building we will be in!

Ask to be near the peninsula bus stop. Its a short walk to thr lobby, but not the shortest you could have. Here's the bonus, though. Its the first stop on the bus loop and the lobby is the last. So if you walk up to find youre bus pulling out, you can easily beat it over to the lobby and not have to wait for the next one.

While it's true that being at the Peninsular Road bus stop is first on and off the bus, it is also a guarantee that you will be in buildings 27, 28, and 29, and mostly those buildings are hidden behind vegetation to protect them from the golf fairway they are on. That means mostly not much view and there will not be a door to the bathroom other than the one through the master bedroom. The other buildings on Peninsular Road are part of the guaranteed Hospitality House booking catagory and must be specifically booked.

We were there last week and the Turtle snack bar was open already. It is very spread out. I am VERY glad we rented a vehicle for this trip.

While we often rent a car at WDW/OKW, we rarely use it for anything other than going back and forth to the airport and grocery store. We occationally use it to get to another resort for dinner, but we have never felt a need to use it within the resort. bus service is phenominal at OKW, and we usually take any bus to the HH from the nearest bus stop if we don't feel like walking. Most areas aren't that far from the HH with the exception of the some of the farthest buildings like 49 and 22.

We were in building 42, and we loved it. It was so close to the pool, a little walk to the bus stop, but OK with us. But the best part was that it was so quiet.

We actually prefer the SouthPoint area which is about as far from HH as you can get. What we like is that it is relatively quiet, close to the bus stop and a quiet pool and, best of all, gives easy access to the walking path to SSR and Downtown Disney. My husband likes to work out at SSR. Even in the SouthPOint area, the walk to HH and main pool is only about 10 minutes...might seem longer if you are not able-bodied or if you have lots of youngsters in tow but I really feel like people overdo the whole issue of how HUGE OKW is! We don't always get the location we request but we always have a great time. DOn't fret about the perfect location---they each have trade-offs and, who knows, you may like where they put you even better than where you requested. That has happened to us. Have a wonderful trip!

Could someone please spell out for me the bus stops....which one is first, second, third, etc.

Also does the DTD bus make its first stop at a different depot compared to the park buses?
