I'm sure I've come across these questions before, but I don't think they've been asked together. Which OKW buildings have elevators AND the 2nd bathroom accessible through the laundry room? After spending Canadian Thanksgiving weekend with my Dad I know now there is no way he'll be able to do much walking when we visit the Disney Parks in February. I will being renting him an ECV. Not sure if a daily rental or weekly rental will work best but I'll ask that at the Disability forum. I originally was hoping for an upper floor in the Old Turtle Pond Road area but I'm not sure if any of the buildings in that area have elevators. Would still like to get a upper floor room. I've seen post that indicate any building # 30 or higher has the bathroom accessible through the laundry room.

Yes, bldgs 62, 63 and 64 for elevators. I would also request any other first floor that is ECV accessible.

Don't know about the bathroom question you raised.

Buildings 30 and higher all have bathroom access thru the laundry room (in addition to access thru the bedroom) and only buildings 62,63 and 64 have elevators.

The Phase 1 buildings (#11-29) all have bathroom access only thru the master bedroom in 1BR abd 2BR villas. In response to comments by guests, subsequent phases all have dual access in those villa types. Only the last three buildings (#62-64) were constructed with elevators. Those are located near the Hospitality House on Miller Road.

Thanks. Then I can only hope I get bldg 62, 63 or 64 in that order of preference.

If you want both, you have to book building 62, 63, or 64.

Buildings numbered higher than 30 have the separate bathroom entrances.

Buildings 62,63, & 64 have the elevators.

If you are travelling with someone disabled, make sure they know that when you book, since they are pretty much required to meet the needs of the disabled.

If you want to be in the Turtle Pond area, you would need to make sure that you booked a first floor unit, and that the building # is higher than 30, and you should make certain you tell them that you need a first floor unit because you are travelling with someone who is using an ECV.

Ask for elevator or first floor because of a medical need.
It sounds like he does not need a fully handicapped unit (with things like a roll in shower). All the OKW rooms are large enough to drive around with an ECV.
There is a disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of the disABILITIES Board that can answer your ECV rental questions.
