OKW/DTD Boat ??'s

Hiya!

We're leaving in 5 days to go to OKW. We have never stayed at this resort before.

Does anyone know what time the boat to DTD from OKW stops running?

and Where does it dock at DTD? (Westside, Marketplace, PI)

I believe the Trumbo Ferry stops running at 10:00. It docks between Capn. Jacks and Rainforest Cafe. Sometimes the wait can get a little lengthy. The boats only carry like 10-12 people.

Cindy, Just to let you know that there is also bus service to DD and PI.

They stop at 9:40 it says on the sign at OKW. The ferry holds 12 people. DW and I rode it last Friday, a very nice ride when it was 75 degrees, I'd recommend it over the bus for sure.

It should be noted that weather is always a factor when using the ferry.

When we used it in December, the operator suspended service because it was too cold. (Us NYer's were fine with the temps, but the poor driver was freezing. )

I would think that they'd stop running it if there's a downpour.

You've confirmed what I thought. We will probably use the boat when we go to the Marketplace for some shopping, but use the rental car when we want to go over to PI and the Westside.

We just got back yesterday, and we rode it all 6 days we were there.Just be carefull on the return at night.More people tend to ride it later in the evening going back to OKW, and as the previous posters has said it stops at 9:40 pm, so if you are not among the first 12 people, at that time of the last ride, you will have to take the bus back.
It is a very relaxing and enjoyable boatride, back and forth takes about 35-40 minutes total if you don't want to get off. Considering OKW charges $25 per half hour to rent the smaller boats, it even makes it nicer knowing you can ride this as many times as you want for "free".
