OKW community hall?

We are staying at Old Key West in September and have heard the community hall mentioned in reviews but can anyone explain abit more about it. What activities are there? How much does it cost? My children are 12 and 15 will they beable to do anything?

We just returned from OKW and we used the CH every day. They should give you a sheet when you check in that lists activities that are happening around the CH and resort. Most of the activities are free. There are a few crafts that you have to pay for - ceramics, make a T-shirt, etc.

There is a pool table, dart board, board games, a TV playing Disney Channel shows, 2 TVs that play video games. You need a room key to "rent" the video games, get the pool cues or the darts. Outside, you can play shuffle board, play ping pong or basketball. All of the equipment is available in the CH and you have to leave a room key for those as well. My youngest loved to go in and color - it was a great way to get out of the sun/heat and cool off for a little while. They also had a Guitar Hero tournament one afternoon - my DS11 loved that! We didn't take advantage but they also have DVDs to rent....I think it's free for DVC members.


The CMs at the CH also run activities by the pool most afternoons - pool party, bingo, name that tune.

......there's also an air hockey table -- I forgot about that!

I think they have a foosball table too. DH and I enjoyed that and the electronic dart board game too.

it is very small and everything is in that one room.

so if you are planning on during activities would go to SSR (which you can)

though it was loud when trying to paint (one of the activities)

plus the big TV is mainly on sports - they will change it if you complaint - but they will leave it on sports otherwise.

now the one at SSR the TV and games that make noise are in another room. so the activities are in the quieter room.

Sports channel my husband and son will be glued to it so me and daughter can escape to the shops, lol.
