Hi!

I'm staying in OKW for the 1st time this Thursday and wanted to know about the buses...

I stayed in SSR this summer at the Grandstand specifically so we were the 1st stop for pick up and drop off...It was a big thing since the bus was sometimes to capicity by the end of the circuit...

My question is this...does OKW have the same problem and what is the 1st stop for that resort and the last?

Also, what buildings do people recommend...we have 2 adults and one is obese...so I want something that is easy walking distance to bus stop and CH area...

On the maps Buildings 63 & 62 look good but I wanted a opinion verses a map. Or 14-11...

We are staying in a 1 bd what are the sleeper sofas like...the ones at SSR are incredible...

Also we are taking Magical Express so I wanted something close to drop off/pick up which I guess is CH...

Thanks in advance for all your advice!
Amlynn

The buildings you are mentioning are in the Hospitality House area which is actually a separate booking window. Unless you reserved at the time of reservation, you will not be given those areas.

I have never had a problem with bus service at OKW as far as first pickup versus last. We usually (not always) stay at the Turtle Pond area and that is in the middle of the stops.

Bell services can drive you and your luggage over to your villa when Magical Express drops you off, if it is far. You will love OKW I am sure!

Don't forget that most of the OKW buildings don't have elevators. Only 62,63 and 64 have elevators.

We've stayed in Turtle Pond area several times and never had a problem getting on a bus.

The stops go in this order:
Pennisular Road
South Point
Old Turtle Pond Road
Miller's Road
Hospitality House...exit.

We like the South Point area, because it is the second stop and is always fairly empty for the bus when you get on. Hospitality House will often have crowded conditions in the morning because it is the last stop before exiting the resort.

We just got back, late last night, from our trip. We stayed in a 2BR at OKW. I requested a room near the South Point bus stop and got a room in building 14 (the Hospitality House bus stop). I was worried that we would have to stand, since it was the last stop, but we always got a seat. We were at the bus stop, every morning, between 8-8:15, though. A couple days we went back to our room and headed out later, still got seats. As a matter of fact, we never had to stand on a bus, coming or going, to any park!

I don't know how we got the room in the area we did, since I didn't request it. I requested a room near the South Point stop.

I would definitely ask for a room on the first floor, if you can't get the buildings with elevators. We were on the third floor. After a day walking the parks, those flights of stairs were killers every night!

Oh, another thing! Instead of waiting until the bus made the entire resort tour, we got off the first stop, Pennisular Road, and walked (it was fairly short) to our room.

A word of warning...beware of flying golf balls...one came through our livingroom window the morning we left. I was sitting on the love seat and it hit that window, right above my head. I thought it was an explosion! Glass was everywhere! It scared the you-know-what out of me! We still had a great time and I wouldn't hestitate to stay there again...love that extra room!

We will have an electric cart this trip for one of our guests, but we are not requesting a 1st floor, because she is ambulatory, and the steps are pretty easy ones. Heck, even my DH's severely arthritic knees handle them. We do prefer the views from the upper floors and the fact that there are no stomping kids, bouncing super balls, or other noise from above.

We just returned from a week's trip at OKW. We stayed in building 18, which is the Miller's Road stop, 2nd to last. We only had one ride where anyone had to stand on the bus, and that was coming back from the MK after MVMCP on the 12th. Even then, there weren't very many people standing. In fact, on the 8th (Thursday, AM) we had the bus to the MK all to ourselves. The buses seemed to be running more often than we've experienced in past visits, too. The longest we waited for a bus was about 10 minutes, also coming back from the MK after MVMCP.
