My FIL usually requests a GV in Bldg 19. That is now a smoking bldg, so don't know where they'll put him.

I think he requested Miller Road, so I was trying to be put in a 1BR at Bldg 20.

Do you know how noisy the buses are by Bldg 20 (I wanted to be near the pool), and is there a GV in bldg 18 or something.

I can't just request to be near "such and such" because last time I did this, they moved my FIL from his favorite spot, so we'd be all together, and he got mad.

So I have to just kinda guess as to where he'll be, and hope we're somewhere nearby.

I have never stayed at the Miller Road end, but I will comment on bus noise. We were in #49 last time, close to a bus turnaround. I was worried, but we found that the buses could really only be heard from outside. When we were walking to the pool or going to our car we could hear them, not from inside the room. I woldn't worry about the noise. It really is hard to get "a bad spot" at OKW!

I've got reports on several 1 BRs on Miller's Road, and none of them complain about bus noise. However, several of them DO comment on how lovely their view was in that location.

Hi Goldi:wave:

Maybe what you could do is have your FIL check in first and then when you check in ask if you can be placed somewhere close to his GV. That way, they don't move him, he'll already have his GV and you may have a shot of being in the same vicinity.

Don't know if that will work, but it may be worth a shot.

What happened last time, is that I requested to be by the B-----s.

THey linked the reservations together, and somehow, I don't know if this happened or not, but my FIL was convinced that my linking these made him get a different GV that he normally requests.

So the following year, I stayed at BCV and just met them at the parks, because I didn't want anything bad to happen.

So this year I'm trying again, but not mentioning their name. Just asking for Bldg 20, on Miller's road.

At any rate, it'll work out.

I was also considering maybe by the turtle pond area, because the pool there sounds nice. We'll just have to hop on a bus if we do that, because we're not driving.

I stayed in Room 2025 in Feb of 2003. I heard the bus brakes squeal as they slowed to stop at the bus stop. I heard the buses accelerate and then brake again to turn around in the parking lot of building. Since there are buses to every park and downtown disney every 20 minutes this bus noise occurred every 2 minutes or so. If you are trying to stay at the room all day it is annoying. If you will be out of the room most days you may not notice it. Hope this helps you.

For your info room 2025 (1 bed room) is on the second floor and to the extreme left of the building. It over looks the pool and faces toward building 19. I believe the Grand Villas in this building would be in the center of the building. I personally feel the noise is an issue here because of the location of the bus stop and the turn around are so close together and the bus must slow, stop and then accelerate many times in a short distance. A grand villa would probably be located in the center of this building which means the bus is going to continually pass the street side of the villa because it turns around using the parking lot of building 20 & 21. Building 19 has the bus stop near it but you probably don't hear the additional turn around noise that you get in building 20.
