Hello all.

Just a quick question and I am sorry if this belongs on the resorts board.
Would it be worth my while to ask for a "recently updated" room?
I understand that since the resort is so large Disney is perpetually updating the rooms as needed, thus I ask. Owners? have you seen a difference?

I have been reading multiple reviews on tripadvisor.com and allears.net; what a mixed bag! You will find reviews of families that love the villa; then read something posted the day before saying they hated it.

We are considering buying into DVC and this will be our first timeshare stay, however as you can see by my signature I have been around! Also, if it makes a difference we are staying via trade from a 5 star Interval Property. As you can see Mom picked OKW cause it looks the most like her resort.

Any input would be most appreciated!

Thanks!

I haven't seen the villas, but I have stayed in the regular 2BR at OKW with my DH, DS, and elderly parents and everybody loved it! My parents especially loved having their own bedroom and bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. If you don't get a villa, you won't be disappointed in the size and layout of the 2 BR. Have a wonderful trip! We're headed back home to OKW in June and just can't wait!:cheer2:

As you can probably tell from my screen name, OKW is my favorite DVC resort. The rooms are large and it has a nice, relaxed atmosphere. After a day in the parks it really feels good to get away to a quiet place.

The rooms at any Disney resort, not just DVC, are subject to some pretty high standards of maintenance. There is a regular rehab schedule; you don't need to request one that has been recently rehabed because you won't be able to tell the difference.

We LOVE OKW and have been staying in 1,2 and 3 bedroom villas there for 12+ years. We have yet to have a bad stay. LOVE the size, LOVE the Key West turn of the 20th century decor, LOVE the townhouse feel to the villas, LOVE the views, the quiet, the wildlife, the friendly workers, the parking outside your door, the neighborhood pools, etc, etc, etc,.

I can't wait either Music_Mom! I am very excited, and I have gotten my very non disney Mom to get excited as well. I just fear that it is not perfect for them and they are some how disappointed.

Thank you for putting my fears to rest!

We've also stayed in studios, one and two bedroom villas at OKW since 1998 and never had a bad room.

We actually found many of those wines by dining at Artist Point!

I am an avid DVC lover, but had a terrible experience with the beds at OKW. We are staying again in May....is this typical or did I catch something at the wrong time. The king bed we had in our master was so hard (and felt incredible cheap)I couldn't hardly sleep on it. Are all the beds at all the DVC's the same or are they different? I've never had the prob lem at any other resort.

If you want top tier bedding... don't stay at Disney. (Seriously the beds do NOT measure up to industry standards) For whatever reason though OKW does seem to have slightly firmer beds. But you aren't getting "Heavenly Beds" at Disney LOL! (Unless you go to the Swan!)

I agree! I have yet to stay in any Disney owned property that I thought had decent beds!
