Hi all,
Yes, I know...I haven't been much of a correspondent lately. Found something besides the computer to occupy some of those long evening hours. (don't take it personally, please!). The "romantic" plans for V-day are pizza w/him and his kids. I think that's pretty cool, actually. I met them for the first time last week and we all had a lovely time. I was afraid things would be tense and weird, but it was a very comfortable evening.

It's Friday! Do the little happy Friday dance! It's also a payday AND I received my tax return. My checking account looks healthy right now!
Sounds great, Suzanne! I guess I have another year of not getting a refund since I didn't work. As long as I don't owe them anything, I'm okay with it!

The ball is finally starting to roll...the plumber is coming today to take care of a couple things, an appraiser will be here on Tuesday afternoon. Wooooooooooo hoooooooooooo! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Cool!!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:  :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Well, it's time to be depressed as Valentine's Day gets closer. :( It's hard to go through this Hallmark holiday without a significant other. I should just go to sleep tonight and not wake up until February 15. :(

Sorry it will be a tough one for you, Barry. It's a tough one for me this year. Hasn't really been in the past, but it is this year. Wish I were in Virginia now! ;) Go ahead and sleep through the day and wake up on February 15. We'll have a party then because it's my birthday! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

CA -- very cool! Congrats!

PW -- Lacombe! That's the next town over from where I grew up, Slidell. Slidell is a suburb (distant) of New Orleans, and Lacombe is like a little offshoot of Slidell and another suburb. I used to go to church in Lacombe, and the friend that I stayed with last Mardi Gras lives there. It's pretty rural there; beware of hicks! ;)

And Happy Birthday early in case I forget!

Am I the only single person NOT depressed about Valentine's day? It's not like I have to go out and watch everyone else celebrate. It's just another day to me!

FM -- opposite for me. Today is payday, but they forgot my bonus, so I'm missing $4K that I was expecting! :( It's a good thing I don't count my chickens before they're hatched. And I still need to figure out how much I'll be PAYING in taxes. Ah well, c'est la vie!

GACK! I just got a call from work -- I have to go in at 8:30 instead of noon just because they scheduled ONE cat to drop off at that time. So I have to be there for 3.5 hours extra, during which time I will earn approximately $20 gross. And I still have to stay until somewhere between 8-10p.m. WHY DO WE DO THIS???

I can handle having my bonus delayed. I can handle owing taxes. But THIS...  !!!

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Jen! :teeth: Beware of hicks!! Thank you for the warning!! Glad he hasn't responded yet...LOL!

Where IS everyone today, anyway?

It took me a while to get there today, but I've been on a productive roll! Of course I still won't be prepared for that early morning tomorrow, but... back to the cleaning!

Sorry Doc! I got my initials all askew. I went to emerson which is funny. Even funnier that's where I am working this month. I was dyeing their dance show and that's why I had green nails. Will you tell me his name? Yes I am on friendster.

My Dad is too cute, he went out the other day on his scooter (ECV) and bought us Valentines day presents at Target. Crud though I didn't get him anything. Yikes! I better go out in the morning and get him some candy. Bad Daughter!!

I'm here. :wave2: PW, since you are head of household and with a dependent. If you back less than a certain amount you get a credit. I know last year I got back more than I paid in income tax. If you want more info, just pm me!

I guess I just have one of those personalities, b/c I recieved 3 more hits today. Hmmm...now to find out if Mr. Right is one of them!

I'm not at all depressed about Valentine's Day.
I decided to spend the evening with dd6 instead of going out with friends. I'm taking dd6 out to eat then to see the ballet Giselle at the big theater in our city. I got free tickets at work.:D I had to Google Giselle to see what it was about but when I mentioned it to dd6 said oh yeah she knew that ballet because it was in her book of classical ballets.

PW- Happy Birthday!!

I don't know, Jen. People must have lives!
Yeah, I have a life, and I'm not liking it.

Have been working every day (don't mind working, just hate being away from my girls for so long). (Remember, I've homeschooled them forever.) And now the two oldest are going to school for the first time ever this Tuesday. :( More transition than I can bear, I'm afraid.

Haven't bought one valentine (and I'm usually very good about these things). My dear dad asked us to dinner....feeling like a poor me charity case right now.

Barry, tell me if sleeping through the day helps.....sending pd your way!

PW, happy early birthday!

TB.......:smooth:

Legs, Giselle is a wonderful ballet for the young ones! My dd's loved it! Enjoy your evening out!

For everyone else.....Happy Valentine's Day!!

Something I saw on the internet:

"So here they are, ladies. The top 10 U.S. cities in which to find a rich, single man:

San Francisco Bay area, including Oakland and San Jose
Anchorage, Alaska
Washington D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland area
Sheboygan, Wisconsin
Naples, Florida
Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota
Rochester, Minnesota
Boston, Massachusetts
Fort Walton Beach, Florida
Dallas, Texas

The rankings were derived using statistical analysis and incorporated various wealth and cost-of-living factors, as well as data about available single males and females. Cities that scored high in the rankings have high single-male to single-female ratios and higher income to cost-of-living ratios."
