That's for such a wonderful and most in depth answer to a very rhetorical question.

Thank you, Disney845. I can sleep now.

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

(Ya' know what's really scary? I understood all that!)

Nighty night, now!! :wave2:

Disney845...Congrats on the 3rd/4th date! :teeth: Have a GREAT time!

Jen...Wooooooooow! I hope you're feeling better soon. Any diagnosis? I can't believe they would give Darvocet without one. My friend's daughter just had surgery on Monday to remove gall stones. :( My sister had surgery a couple days ago and was on Tylenol #3 with codeine herself. Her boyfriend told her she was funny. Ha! :earseek:

Vicki...Thanks! Darling heart throb has said nothing either way...LOL! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm...not bad, not good. :earseek: He's active with the Chamber. Maybe he knows the decent companies. :teeth: DS is not happy about leaving his friends, but then again, I don't know any kid that is when they move! He'll make new friends.

Congrat Disney on your date. Sounds like things are going very good on you end!

Doc...{{HUGS}} HOpe you feel beter really soon! :(

I have a BA in Economics for all you college "kids". Took lots and lots of Econ so enjoy!

PW...Good luck with "sprucing" up your house and selling it. Your son will have no problem adjusting. I moved a ton of times and look at me. ah...in another though maybe not. ;)

Have a great day guys!

I'm also taking Business Stats, PW.

Hmmm...if FM has a BA in Econ, is she teaching Econ in H.S.? And is it true that if you put 5 Economists into a room, they won't agree on anything? :)

BTW, speaking of meets, I was thinking of doing a Medieval Fare meet in Ft. Myers, FL. It's going on this weekend and next weekend. Is anyone interested in coming to my town and doing the Fare next Saturday?

PW: Good luck on your move!!!!! Make sure you bake homemade bread on days of showings, supposedly it helps sell. Is your whole family there? Here you are trying to get out of Florida and I am trying to get there. Go figure.

FM: Congrats on your "DATE". Make sure you take a spiral notebook with so you can take notes and report back to us ASAP.

Barry: I hope taking these classes will not interfere with rollercoaster riding.

Hmmm...I'll have to remember that. Get out the old bread machine. :) I guess you could say my whole family is there. My sister is about 5 hours north of the area I'm looking at. Yes, I'm trying to get out! I got out very briefly in 1995 but ended up back here. LOL! I think it's time to go for good.

PW -- I might have missed it, but what prompted you to go ahead and decide to move? You're going to finish out the school year, right?

FM -- did you say who your date is with? When is it?

Barry -- I love renaissance fests. I'm guessing that's what that is. I'd love to go, but I work that weekend. :(

As for me, the pain was determined to be a pulled muscle. Who would have known? For the first 12 hours or so, I just thought it was another ulcer. But then it didn't get better. I think it's my diaphragm that I strained, though I don't know how. I had to drink this nasty cocktail with lidocaine in it. I thought THAT was going to kill me when I lost the ability to swallow! So, when that didn't help the pain, we knew it wasn't an ulcer. (Man I should have taken some of that home for the next time I DO have one.) And I took some x-rays at work, so we know it's not gallstones, a fractured rib, or gas (man that would have been the worst, longest-lasting gas ever). Anyway, I wish I wouldn't have waited a whole day to go to the dr. Today was SO much more tolerable. I'm just wondering if this is what life after 30 is going to be all about. I'm starting to feel like a grandma.

Jeez Doc Stop it with the pain will you? Pain is bad and you should avoid it like wearing stripes and houndstooth at the same time.

Concrats on the decision to move Pin wizard!

Ok so how do go about acquiring a date? Right now my dog is sleeping on my lap and my mom is rocking my kitten like a baby telling him to settle down. If that's not hot stuff I don't know what is.

I'm glad it's just a pulled muscle, Jen!! Geez...I remember getting a zinger of a pain every now and then a few years ago. I felt somewhat better when I was with a friend of mine and she got a zinger herself! Welcome to your 30s! LOL! Hope that muscle is back to itself soon.

Let me see if I can get the beginning of my list from another thread on here. It gives some of my reasons. And yes, I'm planning to finish out the school year for both me and my son. I'm hoping to have all the timing right to move this summer! I've got to seriously get some slacked off house cleaning done this weekend so I can have the realtor come in and take a look. :)

I visited my former boss at the hospital yesterday. She was asking me what's different about going up now as opposed to the last time I went. What makes me think I won't come running back here.

Number one...I DON'T HAVE A JOB TO COME RUNNING BACK TO! LOL! I did last time. She agreed with that!

Number two...A younger population! Important when you will consider remarrying! Tired of the senior population of FL! LOL!

Number three...Everyone I came across was friendly, polite, and even helpful! Unlike where I live where they bump into you without saying "excuse me." Which, by the way, some woman did to me in the food store with her cart the other day! And when I stared her down (not nice, I know) she didn't even look at me. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
rrrrrrrr...

Number four...Better paying jobs! Not only that...they have PENSION PLANS at the companies there. From my experience in FL, there are only 401K's. Not pension plans. At least not at the companies I've worked for the past 15 years.

Number five...I would be close to the gorgeous beach, can be in Virginia Beach in the blink of an eye, and can visit the mountains (which I REALLY miss) west of Richmond!! Florida beaches are nice, but I don't get there often enough. And I MISS the mountains!!!

Number six...I would be a 4 to 5 hour drive from my sister in Northern VA. Much better than having to hop on a plane or train from FL.

Number seven...Possibly take classes at the College of William and Mary! For some reason, that school has appealed to me since I was a kid. And I've never even been there. After talking to my former boss yesterday, I hear it's beautiful! Her daughter seriously considered going there but ended up going in Gainesville.

Number eight...I would REALLY like to work for a company that does government work/contracting. I find it soooooooooooo interesting!!

Number nine...A change in seasons. I still can't figure out what month it is without looking at a calendar in FL because most months are HOT! LOL! Spring, Summer, Fall, and the dreaded Winter sound lovely.

Number ten...I REALLY love Williamsburg also and would love being so close and able to go often. After all, when I was there a couple weeks ago, I bought Annual Passes for me and Richard!!! I need to go back!

Number eleven...A private parochial school is about 1/2 what I pay for son's equivalent school in FL! And the fees are less! Registration/Reregistration fees at the school I looked into were $50-$75. At Richard's school...$250!!! That's right...Two HUNDRED fifty dollars. Don't forget books, uniforms, donations, fund raisers, etc. Can't afford to send him next year at almost $5,000 a year!

Number twelve...Fifteen years in FL is long enough. I'm overdue for a change!

Number thirteen...Just looking at all the gorgeous military guys walking around! Some must be eligible bachelors.

Are those 13 reasons good enough to start a list? I can come up with others. Talking with my former boss yesterday, she told me that her first husband was in the Navy. They lived in Norfolk and she LOVED it! The pace, the lifestyle, etc. She told me to live there. LOL! I want to go, I want to go. Geezzz...have to sell the FL villa first.

There you go...the beginning of my list. :)

Hey guys!! Just checking in...

Sooooo........my date went well last night. I was a little apprehensive as to how "work guy" would be with my friends...didn't know if he would be uncomfortable or have a good time. In the beginning he was really quiet, but once we started playing Battle of the Sexes (with 11 of us this was absolutely hilarious!!!!!) he really opened up and had a good time I think!! Plus my best friend definitely gave her approval (first time any of my friends had met/seen him!).

I swear one of the funniest things ever was when the guys (we played teams of guys vs. girls) were trying to figure out what an "empire waist" was!!! OMG their concensus idea was that it was a giant compound of world trash!!! HAHAHA!!! They obviously thought "waist" was "waste."

I had driven him (since I knew where my friends lived, and had some errands to run before we left) so as we got to his house to drop him off he sort of lagged in the car...and in the cutest way invited me in to see the further progress he has made on his bathroom remodelling. He is sooooo shy!!! We ended up watching a movie.

No first kiss yet to report on, although I definitely think he wants to, each time we go out (and as even my friend could see with his actions and demeanor at the party) he opens up a lot more. I am sure it will all come in due time.

Ohhhh and another interesting tid bit....I saw the kitty cat last night....she finally emerged from her hiding spot in the bedroom and walked out into the living room. She is still scared of me and won't let me pet her yet, and leaves a very wide berth when walking by me. He said it is only a matter of time before she will jump up in my lap and want to sit with me! ;)

They don't. I just go during breaks and holidays. :)

Just dropping by to say "hi". My laptop broke last weekend - ex got the desktop - so I am currently computerless. I miss you guys and I can't wait to catch up on ALL these posts! Hope all is well with everyone!

That is too funny! I will have to mention that to the girls in the costume shop. BTW Kiss that Guy!!

Hi all,
It's been a pretty hectic week. I think I mentioned "fire drill" day in Rhode Island. It's sobering to think that it's been so cold here that a 20 degree day seemed warm.

Anyway, I think I mentioned the "not horrible" singles event back in Dec. Well, it turns out it was even less horrible than I thought. One of the gentlemen I spent quite a while talking to realized shortly after I left that he hadn't asked for my #, but remembered where I worked and tracked me down. I returned to find a very charming and respectful (ie-if you don't want to continue this I'll understand, etc) voice mail at work. We've now had a fe (gasp) *dates* -novelty for me- and the more time I spend with him the more attractive he gets. What do you know?
