If you go to WL at Whispering Canyon Cafe and ask to sit by the fireplace. Great place to sit with just two people and it's in the back and quieter than the main dinning area. Brianna and I sat there in Nov. on our last overnight weekend trip. The food is great and it's very entertaining.

Happy B-day wishes to your son.

Big Lightening fan here. Had season tickets last year, but only have had a couple tickets this year. I have a cable modem and would have a very hard time going back to dial up. I also listened to the Packers on-line when I couldn't see them on tv. I'm just a sports nut between football, hockey, racing and baseball. One of my friends told me that I needed help!

Mr D--
The speed slides at Blizzard Beach are terrific, but *do* remember to keep your legs crossed like they tell you too!

Wet and Wild used to have a slide similar in height and angle to Summit Plummet called the Bomb Bay. I'm not sure if it's still there in this configuration or not, but Instead of sitting down and pushing off you climbed into a fake "missle" which then positioned you over the slide and the bottom dropped out, releasing you onto the path of the slide. That was fun, if a tad unnerving.

Sounds like you're having a good time, enjoy. Wish I was somewhere warmer. We all enjoyed the heat wave here today--double digits for a change. But that ends tomorrow when the overnight low is predicted to be -8. Not my idea of a good time.

Speaking of Wet and Wild...they have this one (fairly new I think?) ride called the Storm. You start at the top slide portion then it dumps you into this big round saucer shape with a hole in the middle and you circle around the hole (like one of those penny, black hole things) and then it drops you like 5 ft in the air into this pool of deep water. It isn't a scary ride, but it is disorienting when you fall into the water (they have fake smoke clouds and stuff) trying to find which direction to exit. Plus it is disturbing because so much water rushes at your face in the slide portion. Definitely not fun for contact wearers!!

CA- They do still have the Bomb Bay.

My favs there are the mutli-person rides, like the Black Hole, Bubba Tub, and the Flyer.

Of course none of these parks even comes close to my favorite which is Typhoon Lagoon. It has the best decor and theming...plus the lazy river is awesome!!! I could just lazy river all day and be perfectly content! :)

My favorite is BB. Probably b/c there is more to do there with DD and don't have to worry about tracking sand all the way home. We are staying at WDW for a week in March and my mother said I could take Brianna to the water parks. I told her she was crazy. Water parks are for the month in June, July and August in my house! During the summer I take Brianna several times during the week!

The only other Water park I've been to is Water Park USA up in Virginina. Haven't been to any of the other ones in Orlanda or Tampa.

Well, I have a date for Monday.

Don't get tooo excited yet.

It's a long story, I'll try and condense. Wayne called me yesterday am and asks "Will you be by the cemetary today (he's the head honcho there), I have something for you." I was going to be that way so I met him. He says the granite company where he sent me for my headstone sent him a referral fee. He says, "I don't need it, I don't want it, by all rights it's yours." He tries to hand me a $100 bill. I protest, but lose that battle. THEN, he says, "Did you order that VA plaque yet?" Hanging my head in shame, I answer no. He says, well, I'm picking you up tomorrow and taking you to Joliet to get it and then we go to lunch. I protest again, I'm busy, my dad can take me (I can find my way just fine, but...). He says "Ok, I wanted to go tomorrow because it's my birthday, but when can you go." Monday. "Fine, we go Monday morning to the VA, we go to the Riverboat for lunch." Turns out the Riverboat is Harrah's Gambling boat, a place I've never been. The kicker? Wayne is about 70 years old. Needless to say, he's taken a shine to me. I didn't realize, though, how 'shiny' I was lookin'!

So, as I said to a friend, I guess I still got it!!

Now someone tell me how to prevent this from happening in the future?

HAHAHA!!! Too funny H_O_P!! Well....ummm...I hope your date goes well!!

Geez, Vicki! Attracting 70 year old men? Sure isn't just trying to be helpful?

Sure isn't just trying to be helpful?
If you meant Sure HE isn't trying.....yes he's trying to be helpful (and he is!) but it's a bit more than that. I spoke w/ my counselor (who also works in hospice) and she said it's very common for widowers to hang around her office, try to take her to lunch. They're just lonely. Wayne lost his wife 7 years ago. I understand lonely, and he's a nice guy. I just don't want to be caught up in going to lunch regularly.

Nothing more than a story I thought would bring a chuckle to you all. :sunny:

I Think that is a big age difference. Have fun!

Anyone want to go dancing. I all of a sudden have this sudden urge to go dancing. Doing it in March, but that's too far away.

PW...how is your planing for the meet going?

I hear you, Vicki! ;)

Suzanne...Meet? Like the fair? Disney845 and I were just talking about the price of it the other day. It's $25 if you want the rides included. Something like $10 if you don't. Wasn't that it, Disney845?

I work Saturdays too Doc...and Sun...and Mon...and....hmmm when do I have off? ;) Not to mention school Mon-Thurs.

PW and I were looking at the website just the other day...the costs for this fair are ridiculous. It is $25 if you purchase before tomorrow...after that it is $40. I said we could all go to Disney for what it will cost us to attend the fair almost!!!

As I sit here eating my dinner (yeah...it is really late, but I had school tonight and then had to finish a paper before midnight, so no time for food before now) which consists of burnt bagel bites :( and a can of Sprite, I wonder....why doesn't Sprite have caffeine?? For that matter, why do they not make caffeinated ginger ale, or those fruit sodas like grape or orange?? Just something to ponder at 11:51 on a Wed. night

Yes...but I dislike the taste of Mt. Dew.

I like, in order of preference:

Coke
Wild Cherry Pepsi
Cherry Coke
Dr. Pepper
Pepsi
Ginger Ale (many brands)
Sprite
Black Cherry Soda
Root Beer (different brands)
Grape/Orange/Strawberry (different brands)
7 UP
Code Red
Mr. Pibb

I dislike or really dislike (no order):

Anything diet
Vanilla anything
Cream Soda
Mr. Pibb xtra
Pepsi Blue
Mt. Dew
dnL
new tropical fruity sprite

hmmm not sure why I bothered telling you guys all of that...I am sure none of you care about my soda likes/dislikes

heh you're funny.

i am personally trying to get off the sodas, especially caffeine. but i also want to get off ALL diet sodas because i do believe what they say about giving you the munchies.

my current strategy is to switch from the current daily necessity of diet dr pepper to the not-so-yummy wal mart version. so, i have it available when i NEED something (and there are times at work when i go on a rampage to find my drink), but it tastes too gross to just drink for the taste of it.

good plan, don't you think? plus it costs half as much. :)

now if only i wouldn't stay up all night online, i wouldn't need caffeine.

Hey-- I say we just go to a theme park, because then I won't have to buy a ticket. :teeth:

I second Docs motion to go to the park. I also don't have to buy a ticket! I actually went to bed really really really early last night. I hadn't slept the two nights before and I was like a walking zombie yesterday. Hopefuly the ten hours of sleep will help. Have to work "late" tonight(all the way to 5:20), so hopefully I'll have the energy. I'm also trying to stay away from the Caff. stuff, but I NEED my coffee in the morning. REally cranky when I don't have it. Usually drink caff. free Pepsi, but only have the regular stuff in the house right now. I stay away from Diet. Just can't drink that stuff.

Everyone have a great day at work/school!

Ok, let's meet at the theme parks- I'll be at Disney and ASMo this weekend. I have my interview on Friday on the way up there. Should I go for broke and get a seasonal pass (never had one before) or just get the Play Four pass? You can upgrade from the Play 4 to the seasonal but it must be done at Disney by July 11. So if I don't go back before then I would need to make an extra trip just to get this done.

I couldn't sleep last night- was thinking about moving and changing jobs.:scared: I have another good job possibility down here but it is too far to commute each day and would also necessitate a move and change of schools.:( And still waiting to hear from still another job possibility in Brevard County. My mind is in a quagmire. I'll probably just end up staying where I am at now because I can't make a decision.
Other schools have no childcare on inservice days, holidays, winter break, spring break, summer break. So you have to run around and find some place to put your child. And if there is a waiting list for before/aftercare she has to be bussed to and from a childcare facility to the school. The school she is in now provides childcare for all of the above. I never have to worry about that.
The school is even having an overnight pajama party at the school this Saturday to give parents a break.

Disney845- You are quite the soda connoisseur!:D
