How old were you when you got out of school?

I was 26, started my first professional job at 27, but only this past year have I actually started to have any spending money and feel like I wasn't living the "college" life.

I'm being a slacker again. I'm supposed to be going to a party that started 30 minutes ago. I only know one person who will be there, so I'm not overly-ecstatic about it. I don't even know what the dress is supposed to be, which might just keep me from going. Of course I agreed to call the young'un if I wound up flaking on the party or leaving it early. I just want to be lame again and blow it all off. {I need a lazy smiley!} Why can't these events be on my days off?

ACK!!! There are certain words that just say "DO NOT CLICK HERE." Why is it that guys don't get that? Erotic, sexy, 69... hello! Are they serious? Well, I guess there ARE a bunch of people on there looking to get laid... I guess those are their code words.

I don't want to be with a vet, anyway. I want someone with a GOOD job. :p :(

Ugh... I got the return call... looks like I have no excuse for skipping this party. I need some good party vibes sent my way. Let there be single men! :earsgirl:

Good party vibes to Doc........Good party vibes to Doc.........Good party vibes to Doc.........Good party vibes to Doc.........Good party vibes to Doc:jester:
Have a good time!::yes::

I'm going to recline and watch Lord of the Rings. Never saw any of these but I did read the books a long time ago in a land far, far away (Star Wars?)
And I started reading Harry Potter today. I like it so far. Never read these before or saw the movies.
I don't know wha happened. I was really in to fantasy and science fiction when I was much younger but I got away from that.
Well, I think I'm just sitting here talking to myself so I'm going to watch that movie.

Single men, single men, single men, single men!!

Sounds like you're all covered now! ;)

I'm back and you guys gave me a lot of reading to do! Welcome over to our little single world here Doc. I had an interesting cruise. I'm glad to be home. I did go to the single's meet like I promised myself. There were lots of guys there, but none were there for the meet. The were watching the football game. Did meet a single guy on my B-day, which was interesting. Did way way way way too much drinking the night before and was rewarded with my first hang-over ever, which was not good with the big waves we were having. Left my stateroom at 5:30 in the morining looking for water. The 24 hour drink station I found out didn't open up until 6:30, but the poor CM must have took pity on my "All I want is water plee". Sat down with my cups of water and some guy with two cups of coffee comes and sits down. He apparently had seen me the past two days and just wanted to know me better. Things got weird when he started talking about his divorce and his kid and his guilt. You will never believe how I got rid of him. Even with my stomach rocking and head pounding, I scared him off by talking about football. Apparently I knew more than with knowing too much about the Packer game the other night. The rest of the cruise when he saw me, he wouldn't say a peep. Was kind of funny!

Glad to see you back, Suzanne! I think everyone but me has a date tonight. It's been sooooooooooooooooooooo quiet! I've only seen Legs22 around.

So you managed to scare the guy off with football! LOL! Way to go!!

Did Brianna enjoy the cruise also? Glad you had a good time. And glad you went to the singles meet! No one interesting enough, huh?

Brianna loved the cruise. She likes going and playing with kids her own age. She did get the hang of the pager though. She thought that it was neat that all she had to do was tell them she wanted her mommy and her mommy would come running. This came to a halt one day when she told me she was going to page me and I told her if she does, we'll just go to bed. She didn't like that idea. Nope no single men that I would want to talk to at least. I have a couple of New Year's resolutions with one of them is to actually start dating instead of keep talking about it. I'm also going to start cooking again. Actually opened up the cookbooks this afternoon to find lots of yummy recipes. I've missed the kitchen.

Sounds like a couple good resolutions. Have you not had the time to cook?

Wow! She like the paging thing. That's too cute! You're right...I guess she wouldn't like to go to bed early. LOL! Cute!

I don't know where I've been to have missed so much, but I think I just read a short novel! My friends, you've been busy!

Legs, did you enjoy the movie? I can't wait to see Return of the King. Loved the books and movies! I also enjoy the Potter series, movies and books. Unfortunately, fun reading time is at a premium around here. Too busy reading about ancient Greece, missionaries and Ben Franklin.

FL Minnie....happy safe return! We go on our first cruise in November. To be honest, I'm not sure I'm going to know what to do with myself without DH there. I know my girls will be running hither and yon, leaving me to eat their dust (or is that waves?). May I ask, what did you do to entertain yourself during the day?

PW, any word from VA lately? I don't know how you stand it. I'd be chomping at the bit, wanting to call or something.

Had a nice time at the annual karate party last night. I was told by three of the men there how nice I looked. Of course they're married, they're my friends. But it still put a smile on my face! Have to say there were two or three single me there and two of them would look great in uniform! But alas, we're back to the karate look. Oh well.

It's snowing, must go see if the snow blower is going to start up for me.

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Haven't heard in 5 days, Vicki. And I'm dying here!! Hopefully, things will slow down for him this week. I start classes this week (and as usual I can think of nothing but him...how am I supposed to concentrate and do homework? I had an extremely difficult time last semester!) I would think his daughter will be going back to school in OK soon if not this weekend. We'll see if any e-mail shows up here this week. I hope so. In the meantime, I'M READY TO PACK MY BAGS AND GO! But you'll have to read my...Calling all Hampton Roads, VA...thread to get the details of that. :) I need connections there!!! Found the company I want to work for!! :)

Hey guys!!

No hot date last night, just working :(

I did go out and buy myself a cute new cell phone yesterday. When I moved home from IN last May I left my old cell up there (had a 2 year contract and it was in ex's name, didn't feel like bothering to take over the contract or keep in touch with him to pay it...so he was gifted with 8 months left of a cell phone contract to deal with ;) evil aren't I??) when I moved down here I was looking for a job, and since I didn't find one for about 5 months, I wasn't able to justify the need to spend money on a phone! It was horrible though, to go from having a cell for years and years, to none at all, but I guess it helped that I really had very few people to call anyway!! ;) I had planned on buying a new cell when I got my job, but with the job and school, I had no time to research which cell I wanted. Or to check out plans. Finally had a free morning yesterday and went to a million different stores and checked out plans and such.

OOOOOHHHHH..... in the middle of my post I went to try to find a pic of the phone I got to show all of you guys, and I found out that it was a Limited Edition and that it is rare, and going for a heck of a lot more than I paid on ebay!!!! Wow!!! It is the Sanyo 8100. At Radio Shack they had the 8100 displayed in silver and a dark blue color. I asked for the silver, but the guy came back and said they didn't have silver, but they did have this other one. It was a pearl iridescent white with purple on the inside. I was like...oh wow, I like that even better than the silver, so I was very excited about it. When I got home and started playing with it though I realized that there were numbers in the phone book, and calls in the history, and even a picture on it (it is a camera phone) so I was rather pissed that I got what seems to be a used phone...but there appears nothing wrong with it, and appearantly it is in demand on the internet!!

Here are some pics of it.

It was $99 (sale with 2 year contract) at Radio Shack, the Sprint Store, and Best buy, I just happened to buy it from radio Shack, and lucky me that they had this pretty color. I am also pretty happy with my plan. 1000 anytime minutes for $45, unlimited nights and weekends, free pcs-pcs (useful as some of the people I would call have Sprint as well), 2 month trial of the visual package, and nationwide long distance.

I start classes this week

UGH!!!! Don't remind me!!! I start tomorrow! Yuck Yuck Yuck!!! Doesn't even seem like I had a vacation at all, because when school ended in early December I ended up working overtime at work. I really need a "vacation" vacation. Anyone want to take me on vacation with them???

One of my friends is down visiting over the holiday break. She goes to grad school at the University of Maryland (with a fellowship!!!!!) and doesn't go back till sometime around the 26th I think. Next week she is going skiing in Tahoe....:( OK I admit it...I am extremely jealous...of the time they get off, and her trip to Tahoe, but mostly of her fellowship!! :) Grad school is just around the corner for me...I think I might literally fall off my chair if I was offered a fellowship somewhere...but maybe at least an assistantship?? ;)

Congrats on the new phone, Disney845. :teeth: I got a new one just before Christmas and LOVE it! :) The plan I had on my old phone was a flat $20 a month. Great deal except I was limited on hours of long distance calls, etc. With my new phone I believe it's $35 a month...anytime minutes and free long distance. Wow! Was that useful calling a zillion VA numbers this month!! :) I am a happy camper!

Good luck going back to classes tomorrow. I know the lack of excitement. I'm more excited about possibly moving! :teeth: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I won't be able to concentrate as it is.

Man, this thread moves quickly! I like it!

FLMinnie -- thanks for the welcome! Welcome back from your cruise. What was with that guy? Football envy? I don't get it. Oh well, it sounds like no love lost. :sunny:

Disney -- that sounds like a good cell deal. Let me know how you like it, and how much your bill actually winds up being. I know my contract was $35 a month, but with fees/taxes/etc I pay almost $45 a month when I don't go over my minutes. I get by with the minimal phone on the minimal plan. I am cheap that way. I would feel so naked without my phone, though. It's like a security blanket for me, especially having such an unreliable car. I don't know how we ever did it before! Oooh... there's my phone ringing now.

Here you go, Disney845. My new phone. :teeth: And for $6 a month I have e-mail on it! Woooooooo hoooooooooo! :) Great when traveling. :)

Too busy reading about ancient Greece, missionaries and Ben Franklin.

Hmm, what do these three have in common. Let's see. Ben Franklin--kite--lightning; Ancient Greece---Zeus, who throws lightning bolts; missionaries--who would like to convert anyone still worshipping Zeus.

--am I close? :p
OK, must be the Kahlua talking.

Hey Doc....do we get an update on you and your "boytoy??"

Did you end up talking to him?

lol. will someone please come over here and kick me in the butt? i took a shower and did my make-up a couple of hours ago in preparation for possibly going out. it's my favorite night to go out! but, girlfriend is still too sick from last night to go dancing, and i told "boytoy" :teeth: that i didn't want to go out dancing without her. so, he went down to the same club with his roommates. he says i should meet up with him there, but for some reason i just am not motivated to get up and go. i pretty much left it that i wouldn't go tonight but would try to set up dinner or something tomorrow, when i had more time to plan. i know i should go, but just the idea of finding something to wear is a little much for me. I AM LAME!

ok, i am going to go do some cleaning/laundry. IF i happen to come across a killer outfit (yeah right), i'll consider going. either way, at least i won't waste another night on here. (don't let me!) :o :guilty:

I'm glad you had a fine cruise FM, myself since I was a marine engineer on a cruise vessel do not honestly have much enthusiasm for it:p Although there were times when the Captain was having dinner and I was at the helm, pretty girls from all around the world would come up to the Pilothouse and ask about living in the Sierras. It was a 500 passenger "paddleboat" or sternwheeler at Lake Tahoe, CA back in 1990.

Well anyhow I flew into orlando saturday evening, got the rental car and found our rental home, took my 9 year old son with me to SW and then IOA, took him on Spiderman and Dr. Doom, he said Doom made him wet his pants, no problemo...so went on the Jurassic park ride, that got him wet all over! Today we are going back to see the other half of Universal.

The pretty girl at a Publix store that sold us our tickets was totally blown away when I told her I have two grandchildren, I asked her how old I look, she said mid thirties, HAH! I turned 47 in Dec, guess all that high protein shakes, treadmill and just my very physically demanding work in Alaska is preserving me!:D
