Edited to add that I do get to join in on his fun! I plan on taking my first practice exam for my license tonight. What a fun NYE!

Going to a small party at a friend's house tonight. I actually have a sitter on New Year's Eve! A small miracle
This is the same friend that set me up with my latest date. We went to the Christmas show 2 weeks ago and had a really great time. He even kissed me good night on the cheek and said he would call over the weekend. Well I haven't heard one word from him since the show. He will not be at this friend's party tonight because he has his kids tonight and the party is not kid friendly. Everyone has sitters.
The Swan sounds good but too far to drive today. And the Magic sounds even better!

I plan on watching Dick Clark on TV. I'm not going out for NYE. Too many crazy people on the road and too many weirdos singing Karaoke at the Swan.

After work today...I went to lunch with "work guy", and we made plans for tonight!!!!!! Lunch was nice (he even paid ), and I am excited about tonight! No non-dates in sight!!

Things with "friend" are definitely over. Just a few weeks ago I was very excited about the prospects in that "relationship"....but he turned out to be a jerk...just didn't see it earlier...wish I had...oh well, as I said previously I am not sweating it. Also didn't intend to "go out" with someone directly after that, but this sort of fell into my lap, and who could pass it up??

I have resigned myself to being dull this NYE. One cousin already backed out of the Swan plan, so I was just going to go over to the other cousin's apartment to their little party. I was on my way out the door when a fire cracker went off about 3 feet from my head. One of my dogs has separation anxiety and is already going nuts from the loud noises, and with the neighbors shooting fireworks INTO MY YARD repeatedly, I'm too anxious about shrub fires to leave. (We had to call 911 at my own house one year due to a fireworks fire). I officially hate holidays that involve fireworks. So, I'll be staying here keeping my babies safe.

I've been considering it, but what a pain! It's weird. Those people had been out there since about 10:00, but it looks like they've finished for now. There are still plenty of fireworks around to scare the dogs, but at least they're not in my yard any more.
