Okay...I've Called the Late Night DISers, Now I'm Calling the Single DISers (Part 2)

DBF moved last week. :guilty: He thinks we will be able to see each other twice a month which I know isn't that bad. I have learned that he thinks proposals are supposed to be a total surprise :flower: He admitted to me several weeks ago that he took one of my rings to try to figure out my ring size. I'm so glad he told me this because the ring he took fits my index finger!! :rotfl:

Sandy, found any fun caches lately?

Legs, how are you? :wave2:

FM, how far are you moving? Is this related to you new job?

BB, how are things with the eharmony guy? I just took some pictures of my brother for him to use with his online dating. This is my favorite:

Nice pic of your brother, TB! What site is he going through, if you don't mind me asking? (Not for personal reasons, lol!) Twice a month isn't that bad, I know its hard, though. Ha, ha...glad that you got that ring thing figured out!

Things are going great for me and the guy from eharmony! He actually just met my DD on Sunday for the first time. They really hit it off! She likes him a lot and he really liked her. :) I made dinner and then we went to see the fireworks. He stayed the night and we had a great time playing outside the next day. He played his guitar for us (he's really talented!) and left after dinner on Monday. I'm seeing him this weekend, too!!

Sounds like things are moving, Bea! :)

TB...Sorry DBF moved. Twice a week isn't too bad though. Funny about taking your ring! :teeth: And your brother is cute and looks like a nice guy! :smooth: :) I'm sure he'll meet someone nice.

Have been doing well on the caches, and having a great time searching. I've been out there in the rain searching and finding, so I must really like this! Went out tonight. Think I have the general area... :scared1: ...will have to go back with more hours of light. This is in an area where there USED to be a hospital. Broken up roadways, woods, overgrown greenery, BUGS, BUGS, BUGS!!! Did I mention BUGS? :faint: Insect repellant!!!! It better be good when we find it. :) But we've found some in gorgeous areas on the bay. LOVE those!!! We're both having fun! :teeth: However, my job is SERIOUSLY disrupting my fun!! ;)

Sounds like things are really moving BB!! :goodvibes My brother is doing eharmony and plans on also doing match.

Sandy, too funny! I'm so happy you have found something you enjoy so much. :sunny: And what wonderful memories this will make for both you and your DS!

Ah, yes, but now I hit ROCK BOTTOM!! The homeowners association has had issues with my two dogs since the day I moved them in...prior to seeing any paperwork about pets...which was my fault of course, but I didn't even think of it!!!! So by July 31 both dogs have to be PERMANENTLY gone! Right now I HATE HATE HATE HATE the human race!

Oh Sandy, I am SO sorry. :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: Do they have the right to do this?? It just doesn't seem fair. All my best that there is some workable solution - for both you and your beloved furbabies. Hearing this makes me want to cry with you.

I'm putting feelers out there. I'm thinking temporary place for them until I SELL and MOVE!!! The house and crappy people go before the dogs do.   If I stay, I'll be ticked off at two neighbors. I know they must have said something due to the discussion the other night with the board.

Thanks. Moving is starting to look good actually. If only more were available out there!!!

Hey, dd and I just got back yesterday from a week-long trip to NYC. We had a great time! We did so much! The Macy's July 4th fireworks were fantastic! We were on a boat in the East River. The top of the Statue of Liberty was lit up red, white, and blue. The London subway bombing freaked me out but I got on the 8:00 am subway that day to get to the Empire State Building.

I dread returning to work tomorrow :(
I am looking for another job. This one is not working out. The director is a major idiot and I can't work for someone like him.

PW- sorry about the dog situation. Did they not allow dogs or do they limit the size?

FLM- I thought you just moved recently?? I remember you mentioning valet garbage. Maybe that was the place you found to move and now you are doing the moving.

TB- Nice pic of your brother. I haven't had any results from a year of eHarmony. Don't think I will continue.

Hi, Legs! :wave2: Sounds like you and DD had a fantastic time!! Don't think I've seen the Statue of Liberty lit up like that, but I do remember seeing the Empire State Building in red, white and blue. :) So beautiful at night.

Good luck with the job hunt! Hope something that you'll like better comes along soon.

They limit the dogs here to 25 pounds or less, and just one pet of any type. What does a bird do? LOL! Any way, the story I got from them back in the beginning was that there were no restrictions until someone's large dog ran out a door after a UPS delivery person (who happened to be female.) There's always a bad apple that ruins it, right? Happened to be a German Shephard. So after that anyone coming in had a restriction. Would have been nice to know this when I was still looking! So the hunt begins. YIKES!! My realtor is asking questions. Ugh...I'm overwhelmed with it all ready. There's just no way I'm parting with my retriever. He's the sweetest and smartest dog on the planet. The boxer/lab? Let's say he's.......................spirited!! :faint: LOL!

PW- You're right, it was the Empire State Building that was red, white, and blue.

Funny that you need a new place to live and I need a new job.
I've always wanted to be happy where I work and where I live. I got one of them right. Now to deal with the other, again.
Good luck with the realtor. I hope you find a great place. Didn't you say you wanted to live closer to work? Now's your opportunity! :)

Legs~Wow! Sounds like you had a great trip to NYC! Good luck with the job hunt. :wizard:
PW~Sorry to hear about your situation with the dogs. :grouphug: I hope things get better.
It was a pretty nice weekend for me. We went to the zoo on Saturday and out to eat in the evening (Italian~my favorite!!) Then we went putt putting. On Sunday we went to church together and out for breakfast and then back to the putt putt place and also played in the arcade. The time flew by and before I knew it it was 8 pm! :earseek: I live 2 /12 hours away from him and I didn't want to go but I had to work today so I had to go. :guilty: We had a whole list of things to do and didn't get around to most of them, but we still did a lot this weekend. I think my favorite part was just spending time talking to him/getting to know him better. He's coming over on Friday for dinner.

LOLOL! That is pretty hilarious now that you've put it in print!! And thanks! The market is tough out there. Talked to the realtor today. She said mine will go right away. Not many available in this price range. All higher. Great...push the price higher then! Realtor in FL told me that if your home goes right away without a problem, you're not asking enough. Looked at a listing of comps that sold fairly recently. The one next door with the cute Air Force guys  sold for $3,000 more than the owner listed it for. Definitely bidding wars going on out there. To me $3,000 isn't a huge jump, but anything higher is wonderful! So the selling end can be good.

Then there's the buying end! ACK! :faint: Realtor said she was involved with one where there were 14 (yes, fourteen) people bidding on one house! :faint: Holy cow! I don't want to get stuck renting or being in a hotel in between. :faint: Told her it would have to have the contingency of mine selling to go through. She says they aren't being written with contingencies. Homes sell so fast that they just go to someone else ready now. :faint: So she says I need the cash up front. That would work. :earseek: :earseek: She didn't even talk about the pups which is my main push. But she did say that driving 65 miles a day for work is certainly a great reason to move. Along with the safety issues of driving that far. :faint: It starts!!!!

Sounds like you had a great time, too, Bea!

The real estate market sounds like it is down here. HOT! :sunny:
They don't do contingencies down here either. If they do it has a 72 hr. kick-out clause on it. Sellers like buyers with cash and a quick closing.
How are home prices closer to your job? Are they more than the area you live in now?
You do have a couple of really good reasons to move though......dogs and driving distance.

Bea...sounds like things are going really well. Enjoy! :)

I'm not sure how prices are in comparison. I'm thinking higher because that's "the city." To me the current arrangement is like working in NYC and living in NJ. :) A friend is telling me I need to spend at least $235,000. :faint: NOT POSSIBLE!!! Not on an Admin Asst's salary!!! It's the 14th already. The 31st will be here in no time. :(

I'm ready to contact a different realtor. The one I have here is okay...except she let me get in here without digging into the pet policies! But she contacted a realtor she works with where I'm looking to buy since she isn't too familiar with that area. Said she would have her call me. Haven't heard from her; got a message from the realtor here for me to call the one there. Hmmm...mistake on the other realtor's part! This is just the type of thing that ticks me off. :teeth: You can't make a simple call, you lost me to another realtor. Lost the $$. Customer Service means a LOT, and she apparently has none. There is a DISer who works in a real estate office down there. I'm sure she can find a realtor in her office to call me. :teeth:

Yes, realtors are a dime a dozen. NEXT!
I'm sure the DISer could set you up with a good one.

Maybe you could get something that's somewhat closer about the same price where you are now? Even if it's only 5 miles closer to work, that's 10 less miles per day.

Your first line cracked me up! You're absolutely right, Legs!!

I'm definitely looking closer and in the same general range. The DISer did mention to me that there was a townhouse available in the general range in an area I love...but it was under contract.  So I guess they are in the area at times.

Good luck with the hunt:wizard:
:hug:I'm sure you're feeling very stressed right now.

I didn't have good news today. I didn't get the job :(
