Okay...I've Called the Late Night DISers, Now I'm Calling the Single DISers (Part 2)

Hi Eric! Has your countdown begun yet? :) Everyone I see keeps asking me so I usually know. Kim (the girl who is already down there) She said that would be cool to meet up on the 24th. :)

yes TB, Eric and I start on the same day! How awesome is that??? :bounce: We are plannign on meeting up before hand. :)

We are both going to need the friendship when we are there we will both miss our BF/GF. We seem to have both found keepers and we will be going through seperation anxiety. LOL well atleast I know I will. Don't get me wrong it will be the time of my life but I will miss Chris too. :)

The other day, Chris asked me if I was going to cry when I leave, I was like yeah I probably will, he was like I don't know how to deal with that. (he doesn't want to cry in front of me) Then he was like and I don't want 3 cards the day you leave. LOL ( I am a card person.) I told him I wold keep it to one. :teeth: But what he doesn't know is I already have cards to send him when i am in FL. ;) and there are plenty of post cards there I can find. :)

Thinking I probably won't put a countdown timer in my sig, but I'm keeping track of the days.

Its funny - I went to the same university for undergrad and graduate school (UT Austin). I never saw a sign advertising the WDW College Program. When I went to turn in my final dissertation a couple months ago what do you think I saw? ;) I think I have missed my opportunity. I am so excited for y'all though - I hope you will still keep posting. Do you know what areas you will be working in?

MDP, I'm a card person too so I completely understand! :D My db is not a card person, but I know that he has kept every card I have given him. Goodbyes are tough - but not so tough if you know there is going to be a hello. Will db be visiting you at Disney?

PW, I hope you are not having trouble with your tick bites....

Today was dd's last day of 1st grade. I left work early so I could get her in car pick-up. She is so excited when she gets to do that and not have to stay in aftercare. She really wanted to win the class mouse (Digger) so she wrote a note to the teacher and drew a pic of the mouse. The teacher drew a name and dd won! I saw her approach the car holding a little cage. It is her very first pet and she is so excited. We stopped at the pet store and got a larger cage with a wheel and water bottle in it along with food and sawdust bedding. My $24 dollar mouse:eek: She changed his first name from Digger to Tigger (Digger will now be his last name). I tried to get her to change it to Mickey :teeth: but she didn't go for that.
Then we made pizza using pizza dough I bought in the grocery store bakery and a pizza stone I bought at Target. She was excited to make her first pizza.

EHarmony guy must have seen my photo because he is now requesting communication from me:D

HG finally read my answers to the 5 questions!
PG hasn't read the questions I sent him yet.

I think having my photo posted is making a big difference in the guys wanting to communicate! This could be fun having more than one guy!

I really don't want to start something here but on the other hand I think the experience of communicating and dating will be good for me. I think it helps me a lot emotionally. Who knows when this Melbourne job will come through, if ever? Should I just sit here not dating just in case I might move? It might be another year or two before I get a job there. I called the Melbourne job and left a message about 10 days ago and he has never called me back:confused: I really feel like they are giving me the run around. It sucks!
Wooooooooooo hooooooooooo, Legs! :teeth: Congrats on the contacts! No, I wouldn't put my life on hold either. It could be a lot of fun in the meantime...and who knows! ;)

My transcript finally arrived today. Even though I knew I turned everything in, it was nice to actually see my degree officially in print for the first time. How does Dr. TigerBear sound? :p

Sounds like a great day, Legs! Congrats to your DD finishing first grade! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Today was DS' last day of school also. Now there's 2 weeks until the summer programs kick in! :earseek: Public schools in town end next Friday, public schools in the next town...where I can get him into the YMCA program...get out on 6/18. So summer camp won't start until 6/21. :faint: We'll have to keep busy! I see day trips in our future. LOL! Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, the water park, the beach. I'll have to find other things. Wow! I might need a countdown clock. LOL!

So far so good, TigerBear. Although I have been feeling a little weird since those. Don't know if it's the bites or just coincidence.

DS came home yesterday and said he won the jump roping contest for the fifth graders. :teeth: They had Field Day at school yesterday. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaa!! I got a kick out of that because in first grade he used to complain that he couldn't jump. I guess he's making up for it!

Later in the day he said that he received a certificate for the President's Fitness Test! :earseek: I asked him where it was. He took it out of his backpack, all dog eared. I was surprised to see it signed by the President! :earseek: Yup, I could see how that signature could be George Bush. :) :teeth: DS thought the G looked like a Z. Ha ha! So he made my day!! Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! :Pinkbounc

I know you'd rather have a job right now but thank goodness you aren't working yet. What would you do with him for the 2 weeks if you had to work? I am fortunate. School ended Friday and camp starts Monday.
Those day trips sound like fun. Enjoy your time together.

That's great! Congrats to your ds!:jumping1:

So we are now the proud new owners of a Nissan Pulsar!!! (HeHe, I hadn't even heard of this car before we bought it!!!) It is in exceptionally good condition and the best part is....it runs!!! Unlike my Mystique which is just taking up driveway space at the moment. The sellers of the car are getting ready to move and have a 25' sailboat that they are looking to get rid of. It doesn't look like much right now, but WG and I are thinking about taking it. WG's brother works for Hinkley Yachts so we are hoping to get him to come up here and check it out for us.

WG was joking around the other day and saying that if we get the boat, then we will own a house, three cars and a sailboat....people will think we are rich!!! ;)

In preparation for my best friend's wedding, since she isn't going to have bridesmaids, she asked me if I would still do the "getting ready for the wedding" stuff with her. She wants us to get our nails and toes done and get leg and bikini waxes. Neither of us have had our legs waxed before, and she was reading up on it and saw that you had to let the hair grow to 1/2" before you get the waxing, approx. 6 weeks. Have any of you waxed before? Do I really have to become a hairy monster before the waxing? It might not be so bad if it were colder out (and I could wear pants all the time)....but here in FL, Sept. and Oct. will be HOT!!!

LOL!!! My very first car was a Nissan Pulsar. I bought it brand new about 20 yrs. ago.
I've never been waxed so I can't tell you a thing about that. I learned about Brazilian bikini waxes here on the DIS. Wouldn't be brave enough to get one of those:earseek:

That exact thought has crossed my mind a couple times, Legs. I'm also thinking...if by some miracle I get called for an interview for the federal job I want, I have to have a place for him! There's a day care center down the road that takes kids through 12 years. I'll check with them on Monday. Don't know if they would take him for just the 2 weeks before the Y kicks in. The "joys" of single parenthood.
