What in blue blazes is going on with blenders? Not the really fancy ones - just your typical, every day blender..

Last year I needed one at the lake for some recipes I wanted to try and when I priced them in the stores I about fell over! What happened to the blenders you used to be able to get for ten bucks or less?

And to make matters worse, I went to many, many garage sales (even a few town-wide sales) and not a blender to be had..

Are they on the "endangered species" list or what? :confused3

I want one before I go to the lake this year, but I'm not going to pay over $15 for one..

I think I remember Walmart carrying a brand called Durabrand that made inexpensive appliances. I do not remember the prices though.

Alot of people use their food processors now instead of blenders. I do not look forward to the day when my old Hamilton Beach gives up.

My son-in-law keeps saying that he's "pretty sure" that he and my DD got two of them at their bridal showers (which they never used), but he doesn't know where they are.. He "thinks" they may be packed away in the attic, so I told him when and if he finds them, I've got dibs on BOTH of them.. LOL :teeth:
