Well my DW reads a book. I stay up and watch the first half of the Tonight Show, and the first part of Jimmy Kimmel. Then I'm ready to sleep. So thats 11:30 to bed and 4:30 to rise.

That last part kinda sounds like me. Unfortunately it's usually crawl into bed around 12:30 or 1:00 AM, fall asleep after tossing and turning for a bit around 2:00ish and at work at 5:00 AM. Biggest problem for me is no matter what I do, as soon as the head hits the pillow, the mind goes into overdrive. I have a fan blowing on me year round and that doesn't seem to help, but it's worse if I turn it off for some reason. I also have been told that sometimes I stop breathing in my sleep. (Sleep apnea) If I put on music or the tv, my mind wants to pay attention to it and get meaning from what's being said. I'll look for the iPhone apps and see if anything helps.

My DH is gone sometimes for work at night and I have trouble sleeping alone...I've started listening to guided meditations/breathing exercises on my iPod once I'm in bed. I know it may sound kind of odd, but it works for me. I've struggled with insomnia for most of my adult life - no fun.
