This trip just went from one for myself and DH to one for the family !!!! There will be 5 of us. My kids will miss one day of school during the first week before a 4 day weekend but I think it will be worth it for the first time ever being in CA and going to Disneyland.

I have only told DD14 and DH about my plans. I plan on surprising the boys with the trip, they are 10 and 7. I just wish we could stay longer than I have planned. I am going to rent out the remainder of my DVC points to pay for flights and tickets and to sign them all up for the 5k too.

My biggest problem so far is that the tickets I wanted to book last week went up by about $100 each, so now it is over $400 a person to fly out there.

Sounds like a good plan.

Are tickets still $100 more if you switch to another airport? LAX, LGB and SNA?

unfortunately, it is more to switch to any other airport. I guess I'll have to keep watch. I should have the money tomorrow so maybe I can book soon.

Some airlines let you hold your flight for 24 hours if you're worried about them going up more. Also go to Bing.com and click on travel, they are usually pretty accurate at guessing if ticket prices will go up or down.

That's not too bad... Our May trip this year started out with just us 4, then grew to 9, then 11, then 15, now we are at 26! 26 people, and we are still 4 months out. I think by the time we leave we'll be pushing 40!
