Okay our AP's expire on Aug. 16th. We have PAPS right now. We are going to stay at CBR in Nov. for 7 nights to save points for next summer so no villa for us. BOOOHOOOO. We want to go to BCV again next summer so we need to save points.

We just got back this past Sat. We used our AP's for Aug. last year, Nov. last year, Jan. this year and also July this year. SO those babies WERE USED....now comes the ????? Should we buy new AP's for Nov. and next summer. I doubt we will go again after next summer until summer 2010........BUT BUT BUT..we have 7 days left on some Magic Your WAY Passes.....so do we use those for Nov???? Then get new AP's next summer and just plan our trip of 2010 so we can use the same AP's??? Do I hang onto the 7 days.....in case we decide to do some last min. short trip some time??

It all depends on how many days you purchased on your MYW pass, but if you purchased the 10-day option, I would use the MYW passes and wait to purchase the APs when you know you'll get the most use out of them.

We just purchased a $500 MYW ticket (park hopper, non-expir, water parks). For just parks alone, that's about $50 a day for 10 visits. An AP would have run us about $47.50 per day. So, unless you think you're going to go more than 10 times this year, I would just wait. Plus, it will give you several months to save for those new APs!!! :goodvibes

We have 7 days left on them. They are non exp. I also had them checked in July when we were there to see what days were left. SO I won't get my lovely 20% DDE on my Nov. trip. BOOHOOOO. I guess I do need to use them though. My son is 9 now and turning 10 in Dec. so his MYW pass is for ages 3-9. SO next year I will have to buy him an adult PAP. :scared1: We would get next summer's trip out of the PAP and also the following summer's trip in 2010. I am not sure if we will go inbetween but if we did....it would be Jan. SO that would still work too.

Is that AP price with DVC discount or is that the PAP price with discount?

Why not renew your DDE before your APs expire. As long as you are an AP holder when you purchase the card you should be all set.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? CAN I DO THAT??????????????????????????????????????

You know I bet I can't do that because my DDE is good til end of Aug. so won't they want my new AP voucher numbers??

I say, since it's only Aug 7th, call and ask to renew now. The worst that they can possibly say is "no". oh, well. no worse for wear. oooooorrr... get new DDE in spouse's name!

I'm thinking though, if DS will be turning 10 soon, perhaps get APs for the Nov trip afterall. The non-expiring are good forever and from what I understand, they don't penalize children for growing up in-between visits (read: they won't make Mom/Dad pay the difference in price)

If you are not going after Nov until next summer, then I would use the MYW tickets--with a caveat---if you can use 4 days instead of 7 days and save 3 for another "in between" trip. Then, I would get AP in summer 2009 with intent to also use for summer 2010. I think 4 park days on a week-long trip is plenty, esp. if you plan in a few pool, community hall days. You can also schedule a character meal at a hotel on a non-park day. Then you would have 3 days left for the future for another trip when you don't have AP.
IF you plan to use all 7 days, I would just get AP to use for Nov and summer 2009 trip--you do save a bit on your 9 yr old that way and it is just as cost-effective with the DVC discount as getting 2 sets of expiring tickets.

That is what I would do.

Yeah this is a tricky one. I know we plan on probably going next summer for at least 8 nights probably 9. In Nov. we will not use a park pass on our arrival day because we arrive in the evening and we won't use them on Thanksgiving Day because we fly home that night. So that gives us Friday-Wed. available for park days which is 6 days....and my older son would love to go to Universal one day. So we would have an extra day left over using the MYP if we use them in Nov. and that is assuming we do Disney parks for the 6 days. I am not sure if we will swim in Nov. though????? I know we will take advantage of the parks the first few days because it gets really crowded about Tuesday of Thanksgiving week for sure on Wed.
