or do I bop him on the head for ruining my favorite black fleece pants by washing them with a load of white towels:rolleyes:

Wow! That's a tough decision. I agree...bop him on the head, and then thank him.

Thank him, then hand him the pants and a lint brush!

Big V- my once black fleece pants are now black and white ( towel lint -forever embedded in the fleece) . Oh, and these were his "shop towels" that he uses in the garage . I think he now has a pair of "shop fleece pants" to use in the garage:rolleyes:

That's tough. My DH turned a new set of DS's flannel sheets (white background, polar bear theme) pink (along with 2-3 new undershirts) because he washed them with a new red blanket. On one hand, I would like to see DH take more responsibility around the house, on the other hand..... Oh, and he always feels like I never appreciate his efforts to pitch in around the house.

Did it ever occur to you guys DH's do this on purpose?
It's one way to avoid laundry duty!!
Not that I would know....

Have to jump in on this one!!! Too fun!!!!

I say, Bop him in the head and then make him hand you a $20.00 to replace the pants... Then make him responsible for ALL the laundry!!! Except for your good stuff, of course! ;) (Make sure to keep that separate!!!!!)

Man, You both are working, right, and you are supposed to thank him for helping out with a simple household responsibility? I say, yeah, right!!! :D

Alex is right... He is brave enough to admit something that is part of the 'Men's code of secrecy....." Act like you don't know how to do something, screw it up.... and she will end up having to do it!!!! ( I mean, how simple can it be to learn that you do NOT wash blacks and whites together.... Use clorox on colors... etc... Duhhh!!!!!) Even with their limited intelligence, even men can figure these things out.... They just prefer to go to their death beds refusing to care.

Then, whe the wife gets exhausted and frustrated from having to do everything around the house... and when she goes off on the guy to help out.... All he has to do is say "Well, according to you I can't do anything right anyhow, so why do I even try...."

GOOD STRATEGY!!!!! Only problem is, lookout guys, the women are catching on to this, and are soon gonna start calling your bluff!!!!!! When DS came a along, DH was put on notice that "Don't know how to do it" was no longer a valid excuse! :teeth:

I am quite thankful, my DH lived on his own for two years and is very capable of doing laundry. In fact, our deal is, I do the dishes and he does the laundry. However, he doesn't think that folding the laundry is part of the deal and it stays in the laundry room.

I had to pack stuff for his and son's trip to WDW last night, and I was down in the laundry room for almost an hour folding...he came down to ask a question and was amazed to see clothes he was looking for, LOL.

Psst, while he's gone, all the old holey stuff is going out with the trash!!!

Ohhhhhhh Alex......Alex.......Alex.......what are you doing to us?

(BTW, anytime my DW wants to do laundry......I'm in). ::yes::

I'm not worried about it... I do all the grocery shopping and cooking so I think I am clear :)

LOL!!!!

Hey!! Don't start giving away our ladiies secrets now!!! :p

Okay, so if my DH "doesn't know how to do laundry", I guess it's okay that "I don't know how to put gas in the car" :teeth:

Shortly after my DH and I were married, he did the laundry. He put a silk blouse of mine in with all of his dress shirts. In his defense, I had sewn the blouse, and there were no "washing instructions" in it. Needless to say the blouse was ruined.

He casually mentioned that he thought it didn't come out of the washer and dryer OK. I was devastated, as I loved that blouse. It was ruined.

I never said a thing. Since there was no way to replace the blouse - there was nothing I could do.

Had I said anything, I'm sure that he would have "given up" on doing the laundry. I just didn't want to risk that.

We started pre-sorting the dirty laundry into laundry baskets about 13 years ago. One of the baskets is the "dry cleaning/hand washing" baskets. The other ones are dark, light and dress shirts. He is not allowed to do a nything with the hand wash/dryclean basket. This has worked great for us. Presorting the laundry when we put it in the laundry basket has saved hours and hours of time "sorting the laundry." Which was always one of those chores when I was growing up that was such a PITA.

My DH continues to do most of the laundry, and I have the piece of mind that nothing of mine will get wrecked!:D

I'd probably be greatful it was just a pair of pants. My dh has ruined a couple of wool suits and several sweaters. And YES I think he does it on purpose. He has been told Thanks for helping with the laundry, but just do your own.

Will you marry me? I'm sure our labs will get along!:p

Just to clear my name too, I do all the grocery shopping and all of the cooking too. I also do most of the house cleaning. Plus I do the lawn mowing, yard work, and snowblowing in the winter. Now who has the better deal here, me or my DW! I also do the laundry sometimes, but most of the time my DW does it.

The way I look at it....the more laundry my DH does by himself, the less I have to do...

:wave2: Brian!!! Nice to see some of the riddle men are so accommodating of their wives!!!
