I was at the grocery to pick up some mushrooms to make shish kabobs. Yummy in my tummy!
Anyway, I reached in back to get the freshest and a woman grabbed my hand and said;"You should grab from the front. Don't you know we are in an energy crisis and at war?"
I was like Hmmm, what do I say? What do I say?!?
So I smiled calmly at her and then she said; "I am only saying that because I love you and care for your childrens children."
My thought was "Alrighty then walk away slowly with your back away from the crazy lady."
So I smiled and said "Thank you." What the heck do you say to someone like that that looks a wee bit unstable anyway.
So as I am preparing the kabobs for later I am thinking about what she said.
The only thing I can think of is that if they have to throw away the older ones that they either have to order more or have the mushroom delivery truck make an extra trip. (sarcasm)
She creeped me out just a bit, especially when she grabbed my hand.
I also feel sorry for her, I hope she has people that love and care for her.
I am sure in her mind she was only trying to help the planet and our soldiers.

The other day a radio sales rep was talking to me on the phone and at the end of our conversation he said "k-talk to you later..love ya..bye." I busted out laughing said said "Love ya too puddin head"
He was so embarrassed. Good thinkg we know each other well!

Me either...especially when it's not just a touch, but a grab! Usually I am so shocked that by the time I start to say something they're long gone. Yikes.

I work in a grocery store and some of us have to deal with things like that all the time. I had a guy offer me $70 to sleep with him, another accused me of selling "fake Canadian" lobsters (how are they fake?), tell me I support seal clubbing due to carrying Canadian seafood, and the list goes on.

I do hope they are taken care of, but it's a battle to try to do the right thing and diffuse the situation. And also keep my job in the process.

Lots of men are intrigued by red hair, I have always been somewhat envious cause it is so pretty. I think most of us have some evil in us. I can tell you the whole taking over the world thing plum wears me out sometimes!

It is how retail works. When I worked at a grocery store as a kid I found out that all older candy goes to the most used check outs and the freshest goes toward the outside. As it is so w/ all other products w/ a use by date or shelf life. It is just habit for me to grab from the back.
