Okay did I figure this out correctly??

We can purchase tickets through SOG and get discounted prices on passes. If we bought the 8 day no exp. park hopper with water parks and more.....it cost 489 per person. NO TAX

IF we go to MK on day one and use that ticket, then upgrade to DVC PAP which cost 526.11 with tax....will we get the GATE PRICE CREDIT which is 525.07 toward that DVC PAP?? Meaning we would only have to pay 1.04 to upgrade to the DVC PAP. SO our overall savings per PAP would be 35.03??? That sounds TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE???? Am I doing this right? :confused3 We would get three of these and then two of the regular DVC AP's. Hubby and two sons hit the water parks, dd and me have done them enough for a while. We prefer a nice lunch and shopping on those days. :thumbsup2 I would need to figure those totals out. I have not looked at that yet. :goodvibes

Thanks

Can you get a 10 day no expiry from SOG? For us, the no-expiry water park and more option is better than the additional $$ for a PAP because there is no way we are going to do 10 plus visits in a year - we've stretched those plus visits out over several years of regular DVC APs.

Year one we did non-expiry passes (10 day with 10 plus visits) - we took two trips that year - one 7 day with 5 park days and 2 plus visits and then a 5 day with four park days and one plus visit.

The next year we did APs and used three more plus visits.

The third year we did APs again two plus visits.

I still have 2 plus visits on those things! I had a park day left over to, but we rolled that over onto a new ticket.

So basically get the 10 day passes with no exp. with hopping and with water parks and more. THEN get AP's when we run out of park days on the 10 days???? Like say next year or whenever???

See the other thing we can do is get the special 99 buck deal. Right now Disney offers the military a 4 day base ticket for 99 bucks. Then you can add park hopping for 25 more bucks and add 4 water park/more days for another 25. So you get 4 days of parks/hopping and 4 water parks for 149 with NO TAX. BUT they do expire the end of Sept.

Yup - we just don't do enough water park days in a given year to make the PAP worth the upgrade, but we really enjoyed holding onto the non-expiry visits. It was actually easy to hold the theme park days to 10.

For us (non-military) the non-expiry 10 day plus passes are considerably more $$ than a DVC AP. If I could get them for the price you can, I'd absolutely choose the non-expiry passes this year and hold my park days to ten - and then do APs the next couple of years while I continued to use the additional water park visits. :thumbsup2

Yes, you will get the GATE price as credit toward the PAP. That's the beauty of buying a discounted ticket - once you use it, it's just like any other ticket Disney sells. Last summer before the ticket price increase, I bought passes through Undercover Tourist and "double dipped," getting both the advantage of a discounted ticket ($30 discount) and the price increase ($10 more value after the increase went into effect). So I paid $348 for a ticket that, after using it once, was immediately worth $388.
